Blather, I was referring to the thread in general and not any one specific poster.

I am on my Kindle and have only a short amount of time with the internet today so I can not reply further. Sorry.

Roosevelt University in Chicago has offered Danielle a full scholarship to finish her degree.
Danielle Powell Receives Flood Of Support After Being Expelled From Grace University

The school is backing down on it's original assertion that the money Danielle supposedly owes is federal loans or grants, saying now that it was scholarships that were revoked when she was kicked out. That doesn't really change anything as far as I'm concerned. No college should have the right to tell its students what they can do in their private lives or who they can love, or bill them for tuition if they end up not living up to that school's standards and the school chooses to kick them out over it.

Seriously? No college should be able to have a code of conduct? This concept boggles me. Because you would not go to a Christian school, no one should be able to?

Sure, you should be able to attend any school you want, and live your life the way you believe your god would want you to live, but it should not be up to the school to either dictate or enforce.

I disagree. If there was no code of conduct, it would completely change the school. Many people go to a Christian colleges for the environment. If there are no rules about drinking, parting, making out, co ed dorms and other rules it simply would not be the same place and no different than a State school. It would defeat the purpose of having a Christian college in the first place.

I have to agree with Bonita. I think private schools can create codes of conduct for its students who voluntarily enter into this relationship.

But I also think its fine for someone to find that notion unappealing

I agree with Bonita and Kim, but I do actually look forward to the day when it's illegal to include being gay as one of those things they can dictate. (I don't mean having sex, I mean BEING gay.)

So you look forward to the day that there is religious discrimination?

I look forward to the day when people stop using the bible as an excuse for discriminating against other people for the way god made them.

There's religious discrimination now, as people are using religion to justify being anti-gay. I look forward to the day when that ends.

If you claimed that your religion dictated that black people and white people shouldn't date, and made that a rule for college, I'd think that should be illegal too. Oh wait, it already IS illegal.
