Yeah, I can't get too worked up either way about the soda thing.

Not news to me. I know my former habits have probably hindered my IQ over time lol.

I don't think it should be illegal for adults just for the under 18 crowd.

I don't think soda should be illegal either.

Now THAT i would get worked up about. I'm pretty sure i'd deport myself...
Soda shouldn't be illegal. or alcohol or cigarettes. i would be curious to see the tax income all of those things bring in for the government. And we need that money right now!

Here's irony for you: People want it to be legal to cut off parts of an infant's anatomy, but do not want to let people choose for themselves whether to kill brain cells.

I don't get the logic that would connect the two? One is a parenting decision and the other is a personal decision.

I STILL think it should be legal. We do all sorts of things that lower our IQ's. Lots of them are not illegal. I believe illegal things should be ones that are truly dangerous, such as ones you could overdose easily and die on, ones that are super addictive, such as heroine and cocaine. And even that I'm easily swayed on because your body is your own, and if you are going to poison it, then it's your choice.

    My main reasons are:
    1. The biggest reason I think is obvious from that article is that we wouldn't be making it legal to underage kids right? So the point about it not being legalized because it cause a permanent affect if used as a teen is moot.
    2. police and court budgets. The idea we are spending any money on police and court time for this seems like a waste
    3. pot heads don't chew people's faces off like the people on bath salts. pot heads can ruin themselves by not caring about anything, but they generally are harmless, though smelly lol
    4. the money the government could make by selling and regulating and taxing pot could do us a ton of good right now
    5. Also, regulations on it would make it safer, would make sure it was not laced with anything or contain anything truly harmful
    6. side effects of pot are not nearly as bad as some of the side effects of alcohol or even some over the counter drugs. It's easier to kill yourself with tylenol than pot.
I wonder how many people die annually from smoking, be it lung cancer, emphysema, COPD, stroke, heart attack, etc., compared to those who die from illicit drug overdose or the criminal behaviour associated with getting illicit drugs. My money's on smoking. I wonder why it's not illegal. Oh ya, I forgot. The govt makes way too much money off smokes. If you make it illegal than the production and sale goes underground and the govt doesn't see a penny.

I just think it's hilarious that they needed to do a study to show that pot isn't great for the brain cells

The CBC health section is full of studies that I can't believe were ever conducted. There was one recently that headlined "Wealth Equals Health" or something like that. No, really???? Ya think???? They needed to do a study to see whether wealthy people with access to health care actually live longer lives than the economically disadvantaged? Give me a break.
