    Well, we could bring the whole necessity of a lotto ticket into this then. What some people deem as a basic isn't so for others.

    She's obvs assuming I work minimum wage.

    As for AlyssaEimers, I respect your consistency in telling everyone that their family can live on one income. Unfortunately, it isn't true. Maybe for your family, but not everyone. You really don't have any room to tell someone what they can and cannot survive on.

    Le sigh....I would LOVE to go back to school. There's a university here that has a 4-year midwifery degree. I want to do that. I'd have to quit my job though.

    What is a "living wage"? I assume it varies by location as cost of living does.. but can you give an example? I do think in America we feel entitled to lots of THINGS and stuff, and most of us, even the most frugal minded could do fine with less.
