Oh, for god's sake, one more time: it's not a medicine! Medicine is a drug or other preparation used for the treatment or prevention of disease.

Wasn't it you, Bonita, who said that you wouldn't take your teenaged daughter to get an abortion if she wanted one, and who said you wouldn't let her get birth control even if she told you she wanted to have sex? If that wasn't you, then I'm sorry I mistook you for someone else. I'd rather make sure anyone who needs the pill gets it quickly & easily and prevents an unwanted pregnancy. Those of us who are decent parents can deal with the talking part when there's more time, and the girls who don't have someone like us, will still not be pregnant because they couldn't get to "someone" for the talk in time.

Lots of them abort them because of parents like you guys. In communities where teen pregnancy isn't so stigmatized they have the babies. Duhz.

My girls are not old enough for me to have considered if I would allow them to be on birth control as a teenager. I am not going to go back and look, but I do not believe I have ever said I would not. I am leaning to think that if I knew for sure they were having sex, and there was nothing I could do to stop it, then I would take them to go on BC. As I said, we are not there yet as my oldest is 7. I would not take my child to get an abortion. I would be there for them and support them in whatever way possible if they became pregnant even if it meant raising the child myself.

--- They do? You have stats to show that sooo many more children of conservative parents are having abortions?... because they do not know about sex? -----

You do realize that you are again characterizing people negatively "parents like you guys"... You do it nearly every thread, not sure why you have to make it sound like a whole group of people are evil or wrong and name call..

Most Right wingers I have heard of from conservative Christian to conservative muslim would much rather have the pregnant teen than the abortion to deal with.

You're absolutely correct! The U.S. states whose residents have the most conservative religious beliefs on average tend to have the highest rates of teenagers giving birth. The relationship could be due to the fact that communities with such religious beliefs (a literal interpretation of the Bible, for instance) may frown upon contraception, researchers say. If that same culture isn't successfully discouraging teen sex, pregnancy rates rise. One of the study authors said, "We conjecture that religious communities in the U.S. are more successful in discouraging the use of contraception among their teenagers than they are in discouraging sexual intercourse itself." Teenagers in other states that don't have the strong religious culture not only tend to use contraception, even the first time, they also tend to use the more reliable forms of birth control, and they have better access to abortion clinics so they can actually have an abortion if they don't want to have a kid when they're still a kid. See those lovely shades of green? Those are the highest rates of teen births, right there in the Bible Belt.

Not evil just misguided! I can post stats tomorrow- headed to dinner- enjoy your evening! And yes you may prefer that but your kids prefer to try to get away w it, statistically!

And they are also trying to take away their children's right to make those decisions for themselves. Your right to your beliefs ends where their sexual organs begin. And would you seriously prefer your 12-year-old daughter to be pregnant and have to give birth, than to take one pill to prevent it? Wow.
