Did you ever have a lemonade stand (or something similar) during your childhood days? Have your kids (if old enough) been allowed to run one in your front yard?
It seems that we are hearing more and more about how these childhood stands are being shut down or declared "illegal". In other cases, I agree that perhaps there is a case to be made for the need for parental supervision (due to those creeps and criminals that want to rob childhood innocence.)
Here are some of the more recent headlines:
3 girls busted for illegal lemonade stand
What are your thoughts? Should we declare the old fashioned lemonade stand to be included in the "days of old?" Are there *truly* health risks involved making the need for licenses and permits necessary? The perv stuff and robbers stinks!! But, does it also pose a safety risk to the point where police should shut these down or could parents simply step up and be on hand?
