I think that President Obama is a terrible president. A horrible president. I don't really need to quantify him or rank him as he relates to other horrible presidents.

I agree with this, but what do you think of him in reference to impeachable offenses?

I didn't realize that this was part of the debate question. Do you mean do I think Obama should be impeached? No, I don't think so. We did it to Clinton, there was a movement to do it to Bush, now people want to impeach Obama? Give me a break. We are a joke if we impeach every single president we have. President Bush was just as "impeachable" as Obama was. (George W. Bush?s Impeachable Offenses: Newsroom: The Independent Institute)

I think that impeaching the President would be tremendously expensive, divisive, and a huge distraction from anything positive that can come during the remainder of his term. It would not look good or BE good for America. So while I am no Obama fan, I absolutely do NOT think that impeachment solves anything and I'm sick of this nitpicky crap.

Unbelievable I know, But I really agree with Melissa. I do not think Obama is a good president, but I think it would be pointless to impeach him.

I'm withholding judgement on whether he's a good or bad President. He's definitely not handled the last few things very well, but I'm not sure he's entirely to blame for some of the heat he's been getting lately.

The world today is a lot different than it was in 1970; there was no email, pay telephones weren't traceable, you couldn't test a letter for DNA, it was a lot easier for a leaker to stay secret. I'm not sure we should be prosecuting people simply because we have the technology to find them in the first place, subpoena'ing tens of thousands of cell phone records to find which one matches, kwim? If you suspect one person and their cell phone records can confirm it, that's OK, but don't put out a cell phone or email dragnet to see what you might find. And on one side of the argument, you have the fact that no innocent Americans died because of leaks during Nixon's term and that's happened now, so perhaps we should be going after some of these leakers but that's a big ol' slippery slope. But on the other, freedom of the press is a founding principle of our country and I shudder to think of reporters & newspaper publishers being jailed for doing their jobs. I'm firmly undecided right now on this but ITA with Melissa about the impeachment issue.
David Letterman is retiring. Such great memories of watching him over the past thirty-two years!
