If it was well known that this was going to happen, then it should have been made known to the American people. Not some fine print way down at the bottom.

Doesn't mean all plans are losing their grandfather status. Many of the plans at my company our keeping their grandfathered status. Some have already lost it a few years ago so they could increase employee cost share.

But then, we have pretty awesome insurance coverage here.

It is not just individual markets where this is happening. The insurance that I have now will no longer be offered because of the new regulations, but I will say it is a ton better insurance than what they are replacing it with. I also spoke to several people at a Harvest party last night that's company is completely cutting offering insurance because of this.

MILLIONS of people are loosing the insurance plans that they were happy with, but "It's not a lie" because some people can keep their insurance. "If you like your insurance you can keep it. Period." That was a bold faced lie and smells of a used car salesman.

This is a very hot topic around here and I have spoken to many people about this. I have not come across anyone employed or otherwise that has been able to keep their currant insurance.

Yeah, they lose their status b/c they are either changing of their own accord or their plans are terrible. End of story.

You can say your plan was better but better how? If it doesn't meet the minimum creditable standards, I'll have to disagree that it was better.

I'm sorry ALL those plans weren't terrible. There were plenty of GOOD plans that didn't include the things that Obamacare is forced to cover like free contraception and free mammograms to meet minimum standards. These people were HAPPY with their plans. So now the people that actually did have coverage will now be uninsured unless they want to pay double or triple the price which in many cases they can't afford. So yes it was all a big lie and I don't blame them for being unhappy about it.

My moms is changing.. not for the better but for the worse.. not sure what little thing it might be cover that it wasn't but for her it is worse.. it will be going up by hundreds of $ a month and the deductible is going from $500 a year to $1500 my father's. She has no preexisting conditions.
