Melissa - I am still working. My last day is set for next Monday. My company gives you the 2 weeks before your due date off, and then 8 weeks after you give birth. Very generous, but if you give birth early, they don't roll the "two weeks before" over to after the birth, you just lose them. So for that reason alone I kind of hope to go the full 40 weeks or at least close to it. LOL I want my extra two weeks, darnit! I totally missed them with T. I'm also using 4 weeks of vacation time after Rocket is born, so taking a total of 12 weeks off to stay home with him.
Oh my gosh, I think that if Rocket came on the same gestational day as T, that would be......tomorrow!
Kim - So how did it go with your second? Were you able to skip the epidural and handle the pain okay? I have been trying to do sort of "mental preparations" for it, but I also feel like a huge slacker because it seems like so many women really prepare in depth if they are planning on a med free birth, and I've spent most of the time ambivalent about it, like "I want to skip the epidural this time....maybe....unless it really really hurts....then again maybe this time it would be better, maybe last time was a fluke.....maybe...."
Lisa - OMG, don't freak me out like that! I kind of need to believe that this baby is weighing in at a petite 7 lbs at the moment. LOL! T was 7 lbs 6 oz when he was born, and almost 21 inches long. He was all skinny and lanky. Totally cute in a kind of pathetic way. LOL I guess that's how I picture this guy too - all long skinny monkey arms and legs and toes and fingers. :D
Missy - Thanks! Great idea about stocking up on easy dinner options. I may hit up the store tomorrow and take that suggestion. :)
Haha about debating all of my choices. I just don't see what there is to debate, since all of my choices are absolutely perfect. :p
Actually, do tell me what you think about the name though - the name we have picked out is Reid Valentine. I love Reid, but the Valentine part I'm still ever so slightly on the fence about. The reason behind Valentine is that it was DH's grandpa's middle name. DH and his grandpa were close, and I think he was the one person in his family that DH always felt the most connection with, as far as personality, interests, et cetera. He has since passed away, so DH asked me if we could use the name Valentine as a way to honor him. Plus, according to DH, "Valentine" is a "kick a$$" name. I'm not so sure about the "kick a$$" part of it, but I do think it's sweet that DH wants to honor his grandpa that way.
BTW, DH's grandpa's first name was "Frank" (short for Francis) so he was literally "Frankie Valentine." Tragically, he never realized his dream of being a 1950's teen idol....
So, Reid Valentine?
Here are some pics to keep you entertained, that I just so happen to have on my photobucket account from my phone. :) Sorry if any of these are huge. I think I resized the nursery ones (have to do that at home) but the other two are "original size" which is almost life sized, for some reason. ;)
T (pretending to smash his guitar because DH is playing Guitar Hero, and all of that rock music gets T pumped!)
