I love using family names for middle names! Dd1 is Anne which is my middle name and my mom's and dd2 was given Pauline after my grandma's middle name. They are truly hardly used.
I didn't have an epi with dd2 and I felt much more like myself after delivery... but I also have super quick labors too.
Alissa are you officially "more pregnant now than you have ever been"???
Love the name Reid! I have a student named Reid this year (they spelled is Reed) and he is a total doll. Our sons middle name is Gilbert after Dhs grandpa. Dh really wanted it to be his first name, and I couldnt do it. But it really means so much to Dh to have Gilbert in there.
Oh and my second delivery was a breeze compared to my first. Actually out of all of them it was the easiest.
Melissa- Yep, as of today I am "the most pregnant I have ever been!" I'm feeling it too. I like being pregnant for the most part, but I've gotten to that "I'm SO big" part.
I love hearing about all of the family names and other considerations that you all used for naming your kiddos. :)
Our kids each have a middle initial, JUST an initial, that stands for their respective womb nicknames. We told them they can tell people whatever they want about it, and keep the secret to themselves if they like. (They also have my last name as a second middle name.)
I'm here stalking you on my lunch break.
LOVE the name Reid Valentine. Love it. Reid was on our list when we had Seth. Adorable.
You look amazing mama! Hope you get a chance to enjoy this incredible weather this weekend.....can't believe how warm it is!
And super hope you get your two weeks off-- that is crazy generous. Yay for your company.
I'll be checking back.
And btw-- I totally agree about the others with the births. They just got easier for me (like Kim) and if you want to go natural and I'm confident you can. GL to you!
Laurie - That is so cute about having their womb nicknames as a middle initial. I never really thought about it before, but both T and R (LOL! I have an R to talk about now....) have the same first name initial as their womb name. We didn't plan it that way, it just happened. Tristan was Tank in the womb (named by DH, because he was always so big for his gestational age) and Reid is Rocket (named by Tristan, because Rocket is an awesome name.)
Audra - Thanks! I'm thinking that walking T to the park this weekend sounds like a plan, since it's going to be so nice. :)
So, we had some excitement last night. I had my drs appt yesterday, which included a cervical check. We've made no progress over the past week (still dilated to 2cm and 75% effaced) so no news there. MY BP was the highest it's been, but I guess they were still okay with it because they didn't do anything but notate that we need to keep an eye on it and reiterate signs that I need to watch for like visual disturbances and headaches. So, no big.
This next part may be TMI, so feel free to skip.
So last night, I went to the bathroom, and there was a TON of blood, and even a couple of large clots. I know that cervical checks can cause "spotting" but this was like a heavy period. Totally freaked. So I called my drs after hours line, and they said that it could be due to the cervical exam, but I should probably go in to L&D at my hospital. So, I finished packing my bag and T's bag just in case this was it, then we took T to my mom's house, and then went in to the hospital. Where they checked me out and determined that I was a) not in labor and b) there was not a thing wrong with me. So I guess the bleeding was from the cervical check, but that just amazes me. I had one last week and I barely spotted any pink, and then this week I'm passing clots the size of quarters? Whaaaaaa?
DH was all disappointed that yesterday wasn't the day. He was like "March 13th is a palindrome! That's a good day to be born!" (3/13/13 reads the same front and back) He's also rooting for today, since today is "Pi Day" (3.14) He's a nerd.
I agree with T, Rocket is an awesome name! When I was pregnant with Carson, DD#3 was REALLY convinced we should name him Cocoa Frankenstein. She still calls him Cocoa but if anyone else does he gets mad
