I thought that was such an odd stance to take. Like it's just unthinkable to have a portrait of the current president in a school. Citizenship, anyone? I remember there being a picture of George Bush on the bulletin board in my 5th grade class along with pictures of other influential people and inspirational quotes. And why not, he was the President of the US at the time.

I do agree that the local poll workers should have had the foresight to cover it up, but I don't see how it's controversial that there was a picture of the current president in a school in the first place.
Yeah a portrait of your current president in the school? Totally not controversial. In my opinion, its a point to argue at this time because people will find gripes to support their cause. It makes this issue sound bigger and worse than it actually is. It helps to justify ones outrage. They touched on this in that Diane Rehm show today. (Can you tell i really liked that show today? LOL)

Oh something else they talked about was the whole racism thing playing into voting/not voting for obama! So funny considering that we were just talking about that.

I don't think there is anything wrong with the mural being there, though I think it should have been a common sense kind of thing for them to cover it up. If that precinct is that pro Obama I doubt if it will affect the results anyway. I think it is more one of those *facepalm* moments like the Obamaphone lady.

After this was brought up today I listened all night to hear how it went but did not hear or see it anywhere. What State was it, and did it pass?

Maine, Maryland,Minnesota and Washington all had a same sex marriage question on the Ballot. I know that Maine (Where i am) and Maryland have passed. I don't know about the other two.

Maine has had a long fight on the issue. It was passed by the government, it was then repealed by a people's veto in 2009, and it has now passed tonight.

I have heard that Washington and Minnesota were successful in protecting same sex marriage as well but not as many reports so not sure how official it is...but it does seem washington will have passed a measure to approve it and minnesota will have fended off a measure to ban it.

Oh times they are a changin'

Mass. legalized rx marijuana. Sad though that we didn't pass the right to die initiative.
