I wouldn't say I have any "heros", but one of the most influential people in my life was my youth pastor growing up. She was an amazing woman of God and was always there for me when I was struggling to figure out what I believed and why. I would not be where I am today if it weren't for her impact on my life.
Sadly, she died of cancer a few years back. She wasn't even 40.
I don't have any one person that I consider to be "my hero" in the sense that I think you mean. But I do have *real* heroes, as in people who have saved my life, my property, my family. The sheriff's deputies who responded when my dad tried to kidnap my sister & me when I was about seven. The firefighters who responded to the fire in our building & kept it to only one room with no serious structural damage. The doctor who delivered Tiven -- only 16 minutes from when her heartrate crashed to zero.
