I never had a chance to post yesterday, but I truly cried when I read about what happened to Jake. So incredibly scary and traumatic for all of you. I'm so sorry, but so happy he is home and didn't have to have a transfusion.

That happened to my sister when she had her tonsils out. My mom packed her mouth full of gauze while my grandma raced them back to the hospital. It turns out that my sister has a clotting disorder that wasn't discovered in the routine pre-surgery testing. I can't remember what it is exactly, and maybe they do test for it now (that was 30 years ago). I would strongly encourage you to have him tested so you can make sure this doesn't happen again with something that should be a minor procedure. Keeping you & your family in my thoughts!
