Yeah, I'm not interested in crafts or decor or things like that, for me it's all about BAKING! I have found such fantastic recipes, and my blog is all about trying them out to see how they work. I have a lot of fun. I don't like cookbooks because you can't read reviews to see what went wrong or right for other people, what they tried, etc. I learn a lot from people's comments and reviews, I discover amazing food blogs. We have a bake-off at work every year and I used a recipe from someone's blog that I found on Pinterest and came in 2nd! I get recipes for my husband to make for dinner too. (I use foodgawker for that as well.)
I also have a board for books I love and for pop culture fun, and for some fun things I'd love to have in my house but will never get because they're frivolous and I don't really need them (like a Spock cookie jar), but they're fun to look at.
I don't care what other moms are doing to make their lives perfect though.....we are a crazy household of imperfections and that's how we seem to like it.
I get SO excited about the recipes though. All the Christmas cookies I made were from Pinterest, the quick breads, the healthy muffins I make to have for breakfast every day, etc. So fun. I bake 4-5 times a week so it's a great resource. Also when I am making someone a birthday treat they go to my Pinterest boards to pick something out.
I have only bought a few things on Etsy but I loved the things I got (which were gifts) and I loved buying them directly from the artists who made them.
I love Etsy. I have bought a few earrings from there since within the last year I have been really into wearing earrings... My ears have been pierced since I was 9 months old and this is really the first time I'm wearing earrings on a regular basis, lol! Anyway, I have a pinterest account but I rarely get on it. I find myself becoming overwhelmed with ideas and I already have adult adhd so it really is just too much for me at one time.
I bought all my nieces and nephews presents from Etsy, I loved the personalized service I get from the people on there.
I will say that I also loved pinterest this Christmas ~ it was fun snooping friends boards and buying them things that I found pinned on their boards (again, mostly from etsy). An easy way to know what people like/want ;)
Today I made healthy delicious carrot spice muffins I found on Pinterest. Yesterday I made my 2nd-place-winning Toffee Vanilla Cake for our family for New Year's Eve dinner. The day before I made baked apple cider donuts.
Also I use Pinterest to STORE my recipes no matter where I find them, so much easier than bookmarking sites or printing them up. That's the best part. I find things in other places but once I pin them, I can always find them again.
