So what do you think? Is it time for the Left to move on, or should people continue to criticize Rush for what he said?

DIdn't read the article because whatever it says doesn't relate to my feelings on Rush. He is a pig, and a hate spewing fear monger. He has done well for himself. I now wish him every sponsor lost, every eye opened, everything. I find him repulsive. And just like the right would milk every ounce out of this story (I'm still getting Obama is a muslim emails, k?) I'm fine with the left doing the same.

Yeah I dont like Rush either, but do you think that groups like NOW have any traction on this one when they didnt react to some of the names that people like Sarah Palin have been called?

Sarah Palin also preaches hate, when it gets thrown back at her are we really supposed to act surprised or champion her solely because she has a vagina? I think not. THis woman bears no, NO relation to SArah Palin in terms of culpability. They don't even belong in the same sentence.

I don't understand this debate? We shouldn't be chastizing a person in the media calling an innocent civilian a **** and a prostitute on a show that aires to millions on the radio but rather chastize a group who is speaking out for the victim of this sexist hate speech?

    Um, OK.

I guess to answer the question, no, I don't think they should let it go. Maybe if we had been speaking out for women's rights with the same passion as they did in the past, this kind of crap would not be said at all. Calling a woman a **** because she wants her insurance to cover her birth control (the same damn insurance that covers viagra BTW) is something we should be talking about until.

As far as NOW, they did speak out when Bill Mahr called Palin names. They did not back her because she has a record of not being for women's rights, but what does that ahve to do with this situation? Why would you as a woman chastize NOW annyway?

I'm sorry but I really don't get this debate at all? Mayeb there is some underlying point you are trying to make that I am just too dense to get.

Bill Mahr just calls wittier, actually funny, and on topic names. Not blind ignorant hatred. Bill has some wit, and can be partisan when it comes to issues. Rush is a disgusting pig. And yes, I mean that in a mocking, name calling way. He has made a career out of bullying with few ramifications (financially, obviously his personal life has suffered greatly as a result of his myopic and egocentric on air jerk off), and if this is the day where it bites him in his well endowed ***, superb.

Personally, I was impressed with her class and grace when I heard her on the radio (can't remember who was interviewing her.) I wouldn't be so well-composed - Gloria Allred would be filing a suit on my behalf.

Rush was out of line no doubt. But I think it's time to move on. As distasteful as it was, I think it raised greater awareness for the issue. All of the colleges/universities I have attended have had condoms available for free. Thus, I can already be a **** on the taxpayers' dime.

I had not thought of this from this point of view, I think we should call people out for it and stop accepting it when they are called derogatory names.

I was just pointing out something that I though of as a double standard. Laura Ingrham was called a **** by a MSNBC reporter and Barbara Walters laughed about it. I think a lot of woman are called names and sometimes the media makes a big deal and sometimes they dont.

This is how Canadian I am: Upon reading the title of the thread I thought to myself, "I loathe Rush. They should've just died in the 70s. If I never listen to Tom Sawyer again I will not shed one tear." lol....
