Ditch Your Passwords: US Government to Issue Secure Online IDs
Do you support this or not? Any concerns?
P.S. Hope you all are enjoying your Labor Day weekend! Awfully quiet!
I'm not so sure I trust the government to keep this information safe. Sure it might make it more convenient to have one ID and password, but it is also more dangerous. If someone were to get that one password they could destroy your whole life in one swoop.

That was my thought also. I don't use the same password for every site on purpose. I also know a number of companies force you to change your passwords frequently for security reasons. It would make sense that I do the same for my personal security. I do not believe that ANY system is foolproof (or should that be hacker proof.)
Tracking purchases happens already through banks, stores, etc. but I don't store all my purchases in one spot nor should I think that is necessary. I already pay taxes on the items that they collect. That should suffice.
