US Postal Service to End Saturday Mail Delivery | ABC News Blogs - Yahoo!
Do you think this was a good move? If not, what should they have done instead?

Yes. They are losing money and have to start cutting somewhere. It said that they will still deliver on Saturday to PO Boxes, so if you really need mail on Saturday get a PO Box.

I don't know enough about business to make the call, but I will miss my beloved Saturday mail. I love that about America. The postal service here is SO much better than what I grew up with in Canada. Sorry, fellow Canadians, but the U.S. Postal Service rocks and I always defend it to complainers. I think it's amazing.
I think it is sad, but they didn't have a choice. Most people pay their bills on line and e-mail.

I would think that package delivery has increased a lot due to all the online shopping, but I suppose people use other services for that.
Yes, packages will still be delivered on Saturdays. Just not letters.

I'm good with it. I can't do much about anything on Saturdays so it might as well just come on Monday.
I wish we had Saturday delivery, generally when I am waiting on a parcel (like right now, I'm waiting on 2). Our local post office doesn't open Saturdays either which is a pain, but in some bigger towns they do. Nothing to really just thinking how lucky you all are.
Maybe my view on this is skewed cause we have never had Saturday delivery, but I wouldnt want it. Our mail gets delivered to a box by our front door. I would worry if I went away for the weekend that anyone would have access to that mail. It would just be another day that we would have to have someone pick up the mail for us, and because we are more likely to go away on the weekend, it would be really inconvenient.
