    This is ridiculous. We have to raise the bar on the expectations we have of teenagers, we have to teach them to do hard things. In so many areas we are lowering expectations and they are lowering them selves to that

    While I'm sure they have good intentions and want to protect teens, I don't think teen farm labor is too dangerous. Teens are capable of much more than people think.

    I grew up in farm country in WNY. Many of the boys (and some of the girls) worked on farms. It was a good arrangement.

    too much regulation.

    Teens are completely capable of this type of work and I think that more often kids should learn how to fix things, grow things, feed things, etc. Learn sustainability.

    Also, it wasn't all that long ago when put into perspective that a 16 year old was considered a full-fledged man able to marry, raise a family, and earn an income.
