Critics blast Obama campaign for new ad that likens voting for Barack Obama to a young woman losing her virginity | Fox News
So DH was outraged by this. He showed it to me expecting me to be super upset. I was not. What do you think?
Love it! I hadn't seen that yet, TFS. It's spot-on in all kinds of ways. I do kind of think your first time voting is like losing your virginity, you have to choose wisely because the ramifications are huge. I was kind of depressed that "my first time" the choice was between Mondale & Reagan but I was beyond thrilled that there was finally a woman on the ticket (Geraldine Ferraro as Dem VP) and I hoped beyond hope that enough other women would feel the way I did and get Reagan out, but no go.
The number of U.S. states in which a person can marry the person they love regardless of gender: 30 and counting!
“As a woman I am extremely offended. The Obama administration has devolved women to nothing more than a set of reproductive organs with needy, government dependency,” she continued. “This ad is inappropriate because it is sexualizing the voting process. This isn't an ad the average family would want their daughters to see.”

Nothing more than a set of reproductive organs with needy, government dependency? Obama administration?
As for the ad: I think women are often over-looked. The ad makes a lot of points which should be important for women. Not my style though.
I'm not offended..like EW it's not my style though.
A little more off color than I normally would say, but I thought some of you would appreciate this. One person on my FB wall posted a link to the video with the caption "Yep, if you vote for Obama you're screwed." Terrible, but I confess I did laugh.
um ick for me.. Plus why put the word "guy" in there if they are so "liberal".

Was this ad meant to be humorous? I'm assuming it was, even if only a little. I just don't find anything funny about choosing the leader of our country so this ad had zero affect on me. Wouldn't have mattered which candidate would have decided to use this style, I wouldn't have cared for the approach. But, I'm assuming the people who run these campaigns have an idea of what will appeal to sub-groups and apparently this idea was a popular one.
