Default What do you think happened?

What do you think happened to the missing plane to China? Crash that has not been found yet? Terrorist takeover? Alien abduction?

I don't think talking about how 239 people died is "fluff."

Considering that two people got on board with stolen passports, I'm going with terrorism. The odds, I think, of two well-intentioned people happening to need to travel with stolen passports *and* the plane coincidentally falling from the sky on a clear day, aren't very good.

I am sorry. I did not mean any offense.

My gut says terrorism...but it's crazy there hasn't been any trace of the plane (or any parts of it) yet.

I hope they were hijacked and are in North Korea right now.

It's definitely an interesting turn of events that the airplane seems to have been found on military radar signals over the Malacca Strait over an hour after it was first thought to have "disappeared" from civilian radar.

I just don't understand with SO much technology and monitoring of the world, why can't governments look through satellite images and find people and things? It's so hard for me to believe that there could be any plane this day and age to go off radar and no one know or suspect. To me, it seems logical to have a surveillance program of incoming planes and for the outgoing to also watch their outgoing planes. Or have maybe live feeds of aircraft, which I personally believe to be a great idea. We would know asap if something was wrong and we'd have the true idea of what is going on from the ground before the terrorist would figure out anything or perhaps if there was an unsafe plane having difficulty.

Here is another thing I don't understand. How can a plane just go off the grid and not know where it is. How is this still possible? If a plane comes into U.S. territory but falls of the grid somewhere far far before but keeps flying, does this mean the U.S. is not going to have any idea where that plane is or that there is a plane coming? And are all the rest of the countries like this too? This sound really scary to me. I just can't really understand how there is so limited knowledge about this whole incident. It's so disturbing.

I do not have a lot of expertise in this area, but I do not believe this would be the same as a US flight. I "think" the US tracks all of their flights by satellite.
