Actually it was a 160 lb 6'0" 17 year old football player against an out of shape 5'8" 195 lb man. I think the fact the Martin wasn't scared of him is the reason he attacked, not knowing he had a gun.

Sure, we'll go with your numbers (I've read mine elsewhere, but it doesn't make enough of a difference to quibble over it.)

We're still talking about an unarmed 160 lb minor against a 195 lb grown man with a gun. Again, not much of a fair fight.

To the bolded, your theory is that TM attacked GZ, and he did it just for fun then? Since he wasn't scared of the dude....just out for a walk in the rain with some Skittles and thought it would be fun to beat up a random guy?

    Fact?

Anyway...in my previous example - the jogger attacked the man following her because she was afraid of him.

No I think he was angry that some creepy ****** cracker was following him and wanted to teach him a lesson. There are multiple videos on the internet of Martin boxing and fighting. I think he was young and impulsive and thought Zimmerman was a smaller and easy target. It makes absolutely no sense for Zimmerman to throw the first punch when he had a gun. All he had to do was back away and pull it out and hold him at gunpoint til the police got there.

All he had to do was wait in his truck til the police got there.

Why would he be angry if he didn't feel threatened?

And seriously, anyone with a gun would automatically escalate to using said gun without trying anything else first? That's scary. FTR if I had to throw around wild unsubstantiated theories (twist my arm!) my guess would be that GZ may not have actually punched TM first. I would have said he probably tackled him, since he was chasing him.

If you're saying that TM knew how to throw a punch, that makes it even more suspicious that he only had one tiny scrape on one finger of one hand if he was supposedly beating the crap out of GZ. The upside of knowing how to throw a punch is that you know how to put your body weight behind it and punch really hard. The downside of punching really hard with bare knuckles is that it turns your knuckles into hamburger. My dad was a boxer in his youth who taught his kids how to throw a punch. I've never personally punched anyone but I've seen the scars on my dads knuckles (from fighting outside the ring) and the fresh bruises and cuts on my brothers knuckles from putting that info to use.

The 7-11 clerk in this picture with Martin on the night he died testified that he is 5'10", 2 inches taller than Zimmerman.

That is the advantage of having a gun. Most of the time you don't have to use it all you have to do is take it out and show it and people will do what you want. You don't think GZ was scared following someone he thought was a burgler? But no you think that he ran and tackled someone bigger than him in the dark when he had a gun at his side, instead of just pulling out and telling him to stay until the police arrived that he had already called. That would be pretty stupid.

Except he had to get back to his truck first before he could wait in it.
