Well, Zimmerman maybe better pray that the all-female jury has not one child amongst them.

I love that we're arguing about this, like what would be the most sensible course of action for GZ to take? Punch hjim? Tackle him? Pull a gun on him? Nevermind the fact that no matter which of those he did, he would be DEAD WRONG. He was straight up in the wrong that night. TM was minding his own business in an area that he had a legal right to be in until GZ decided that he looked suspicious and decided to play cops and robbers.
THIS. (Liking it just wasn't strong enough!) I can see someone saying "I don't think they have enough hard evidence to convict GZ of 2nd degree murder", but to be defending him with such fervor is beyond my comprehension, honestly. He is clearly a racist, power hungry a-hole and he was clearly in the wrong that night, regardless of what conviction can actually stick in a court of law.

    From the transcript Gloria posted:

Zimmerman: If they come in through the gate, tell them to go straight past the club house, and uh, straight past the club house and make a left, and then they go past the mailboxes, that's my truck...[unintelligible]

Dispatcher: What address are you parked in front of?

    Zimmerman: I don't know, it's a cut through so I don't know the address.

Dispatcher: Okay do you live in the area? Zimmerman: Yeah, I...[unintelligible] Dispatcher: What's your apartment number?

Zimmerman: It's a home it's 1950, oh crap I don't want to give it all out, I don't know where this kid is.

Dispatcher: Okay do you want to just meet with them right near the mailboxes then?

    Zimmerman: Yeah that's fine.

Dispatcher: Alright George, I'll let them know to meet you around there [the mailboxes] okay?

Zimmerman: Actually could you have them call me and I'll tell them where I'm at?

Dispatcher: Okay, yeah that's no problem. Zimmerman: Should I give you my number or you got it?

Dispatcher: Yeah I got it [redacted by Mother Jones]

    Zimmerman: Yeah you got it.

Dispatcher: Okay no problem, I'll let them know to call you when you're in the area.
*If* he didn't get out of the truck again/follow or intend to follow in his truck, why would he say to call and he'll tell them where he's at? It doesn't make sense.

If I called the police and the dispatcher confirmed the police would meet me on the corner, shouldn't I stay on that corner? If I say, well, have them call and I'll tell them where I'm at indicates an intent to leave the corner at some point. No?

The woman on the phone with TM at the time said something very interesting. She said if TM was going to fight, he would have gotten off the phone with her. This makes perfect sense. There's no way I would try to sucker punch someone while still on the phone with someone. I would secure my phone, take the ear piece out and get ready. Kind of like how the girls take out their ear rings or put the hair up in preparation for a fight.

GZ on the other hand, did get off the phone. He didn't stay there and wait. He confirmed he would be by the mailboxes and then changed his mind - "Have them call me and I'll tell them where I'm at." If he's headed back to his truck, simple enough, "I'm on my way back to my truck; it's near the mailboxes." Or "I'll move my truck near [location]." He knew where his truck was at the time. Again, why have them call back unless he didn't know where he would be when they arrived?

Most of the people IRL I have talked to think it was self defence. I think at least one juror will agree. I do think it is getting a ton of media attention and would like the news to move on to something else. (My dad watches too much news)

If only 1 juror agrees, do you think they will retry it?

The prosecutions witness today really did not do well. I am surprised they put her on the stand when she has given so many different versions of the story and admits to leaving parts of the story out. Think it could hurt the prosecution?

BTW, can you tell I am on summer break and hurt my back so I am watching way to much TV?

Either way she would have ended up on the stand. At least as a prosecution witness they had some time to somewhat prep her. The defence will tear her apart, but then the prosecution will cross examine her. The other way around, as a defence witness, her testimony would likely be detrimental because the defence would have the opportunity to cross examine and make a stronger case for Zimmerman. She was quite nasty to the defence lawyer, I read. All huffy and impatient.

That witness was a piece of work. I could barely understand anything she said...I had to keep rewinding!
