If I called the police and the dispatcher confirmed the police would meet me on the corner, shouldn't I stay on that corner? If I say, well, have them call and I'll tell them where I'm at indicates an intent to leave the corner at some point. No??
I guess you missed the part right before that when he was trying to give directions, and then it was like never mind just call me. I have done exactly that same thing when trying to give someone directions before and it starts to get complicated and I just say forget it, call me when you get closer. That doesn't seem unusual to me at all.

No Gloria, I quoted that part too.

Well there you go...a black man wearing a hoodie in the rain just blends in too darn well to the night. So weird to be able to see that from a distance in the rain at night.

From what I read yesterday 2 different witnesses contradicted each other as to "who was on top."

It doesn't really matter though, Gloria. It's Florida. I lost all faith in the FL criminal justice system decades ago. So get you're gloat on now. I'm done.

Actually they didn't contradict each other. The other witness said she didn't look out until after she heard the shot, at that point GZ was on top after getting out from under him and TM was face down. Pretty hard to shoot someone in the chest when they are face down on the ground and you are on their back. It was already over by that point. All the witness testimony up to this point matches exactly to the story GZ has told from the beginning.

Why are you so eager to defend this guy? It's gone beyond "giving the benefit of the doubt". Even if you are shown information to say he may have started it you don't want to hear it. I don't understand why you think this young kid deserved to die and that this guy is so innocent.

"Drive straight through the gate and keep following that road until you see my truck." How damned complicated was that?

I don't see why it matters who was on top, or when, or who threw the first punch. It wasn't self-defense in any way because GZ had already profiled this young man as a hoodlum and chased him down, against the expressed "we don't need you to do that" statement of the 911 operator. TM had every right to fight for his life, and GZ had absolutely no right to shoot him.

Exactly. And considering the police were very well acquainted with GZ and where he lived due to all the complaints he phoned in I cannot fathom that they would need directions to the complex and his truck. Either he was not in the truck or he intended to get out and pursue TM. GZ saying to the dispatcher that the police should call him suggests to me that he did not know what his exact location would be because he was on foot chasing after TM and was not content to stand on a corner or wait in his truck for the police.

I think it is a tragedy for everyone. I don't think GZ deserves to go to prison just because the media has painted him as a bad guy and a racist. He had no way of knowing that the 6' tall guy pounding him into the ground was a minor, and I think at that moment he really thought he was going to die. I don't think that someone who was a neighborhood watch captain who was trying to find out where the guy was headed would suddenly turn into a raving manic and start attacking TM. It just doesn't make sense. The guy was not a racist and even mentored black kids.
