28 week appointment

11/14 I had my 28 week appointment and it went great for the most part.

My BP was 114/74, I refused a GD test{got asked a billion and a half questions as to why to EVERY person I came across and had to tell I wasnt taking it, it was sooo annoying}, my results for my second fFN test was still positive and I am on bedrest until further notice. He is still head down, which explains the rib kicks at 3 am. His HB was 147, he gave the OB a hell of a time trying to find it lol everytime we heard a whoosh whoosh he would move away! lol It was too funny.

I was able to find out a lot about their policies and how they like to do things. I asked so many questions I felt like such a bother! But Dr. L was great about it all, he is tied for my 1st fav of the 4 OBs lol.

The nurses forgot to make copies of my birth plan for each of them to read, so he was a little upset about that since a lot of my questions came from my birth plan. But we went over it together and I was very happy with his answers. He said he hates c-sections on healthy moms and refuses elective c-sections until 39 weeks at which point most woman are well on their way to have a vaginal delivery! lol

I got all my answers about what will happen should I delivery early as well, which puts me at ease as well. I am very happy with the appointment over all except this bedrest nonsense lol He told me he knows that I cant follow it to the T while having a toddler to care for but said to try to sit and lay as much as possible.

Ooo and I am in my third trimester!!! Yahoo Time is going by so darn fast!!

That sounds like a really good apt to me. I have been freaked out myself since most of this pregnancy, my baby has been head down, which has given them the dickens when trying to measure her. The tech said sometimes they just like it down there lol. Sorry about the bedrest since you already have a little one.

YAY!!! Well, other than the bedrest- though you seem like a pro at it already Smile I'm glad you like the doc and all of his answers! I maybe should have declined the GD test- last pregnancy and this one I failed the 3 hour at 133 (cutoff 130) but passed all 4 draws for the 3 hour. If I am ever pregnant again maybe I'll re-think that...
But, YAY for a good appointment! Yahoo

I love this OB. I hope either him or the new doctor are there when I am in labor!! I hate not having just one OB...makes it difficult getting attached to one over the others lol.

My version of bedrest:
Do everything you normally do while sitting or kneeling [or is it knealing?] on something. lol When I cook for long periods I get a chair to lean and kneel on, do all my mixing and prep at the kitchen table lol.
Taking care of Kaylee I will admit is hard to do sitting or laying down, but lately she has been REALLY into crafts so we sit for that. She's a ball of energy so we take short "leaf crunching" walks down the street once or twice a day [so I get to work off some of this lazy!]
During her nap, I do the dishes kneeling on a chair and then spend the rest of it in bed. (: Being a SAHM and having no family around makes bedrest difficult haha, but the OBs seem okay with my plan so far!
