Dentist Appointment...

I totally forgot that I have a dentist appointment today. I think it's for a filling...

Naturally I googled and found mixed reviews about getting dental work done during your first trimester. Is it safe? Or no?

I need basic work done, my dentist and doc said it was okay but not to do anything beyond a basic cleaning...

I would call your dentist. Some prefer not to do work during the first tri, some are ok with it. Just call and tell them you are newly preggo (if you are comfortable) and see what they would like to do. You could also term it as a hypothetical question if you don't want to say just yet.

Thanks ladies. I called the dentist office and they told me to check with my doctor who, of course, isn't here today. Ha. So I just cancelled it. My tooth isn't bothering me. I think I will survive. Wink

I am glad you did what you thought was best. I didn't know that they don't want to do things in the first trimester. I learn something new every day Smile

I have seen the dentist while pregnant in my second and third trimester before, and my dentist always called my doctor personally and spoke with them to make sure and cover all bases on what could be used and done.

Good to know that I should wait until after the 1st tri to go in Smile Thank you for posting this Jenna.
