February is over but....

that doesnt mean you all get to vanish!!

Share some love, pictures, stories, ANYTHING. Come on!!

I'll go first..

Rowan has been growing so fast!! Its totally new to me because Kaylee was and is so tiny!! Kaylee was still in NB clothes at 4months! lol So this whole chunky, ever growing baby thing is like WHOA slow down!! He is in 3-6month old clothes and those are starting to get a little snug. Kaylee weights 23lbs at almost 3yrs old, Rowan weighs 12 at 2.5 months O.O He is nearly half her size!

Not Feb babe related but Kay is having another surgery, this time her tonsils. They are pretty big and she has been choking on everything from liquid to soild foods no matter how small we cut it up. Plus she snores oh so loud...you can hear her over DH sometimes LOL

Rowan is holding up his noggin, rolling over both ways pretty consistantly, smiling, cooing, letting out little giggles, and sleeping 5-6hours at night

Does anyone elses LO like massage their boobs while they are feeding?! Rowan does, its in rhythm with his sucking...it doesnt hurt or anything I just found it interesting!

I'll be thinking of Kaylee! When is that happening? Hopefully it'll make her feel better quickly.
Holy crap Rowan! He's getting way too big and more and more baby not newborn like! AHHHHHH

Remy is such a little interactive smiler/coo-er- its SO sweet! (Not as much in the past few days with her leg, but overall). She hadn't rolled yet, and obviously that'll be put on hold for a bit with the cast on, but that's ok! She is now, at 2 months, 10 lbs and 20 inches- and still in NB clothes. She has always been a good sleeper- and for a week before the injury was doing an 8-9 hour stretch even. Now, while uncomfortable/ in pain, she isn't sleeping as soundly, but we've still gotten some 5-6 hour stretches, so no complaining here. I really hope she is in less pain soon, because I don't know how much more pain cries/ screams I can handle without crying again myself Sad
Here are a couple of pics of Remy after her spongebath!

oooh goodness she's so cute!

Little Isabella is doing better. She was up to 9lbs 11oz and 21 1/2 inches at her apt on thur with her NICU dr. She made a big jump in weight gain thank god. We were thinking about having to bump formula from Neosure which has a calorie count of 22 to a really special one that you can't buy in stores. Thankfully she put on some weight. We are still watching her breathing at times but that's getting better. Her feedings have gotten somewhat better but we are still working on it because she tries out when being feed still. She is holding her head up really good now with almost no support she's picking it up and holding it there. She also smiles all the time now and finally coos. I was worried but she's catching it. Hubby has been deployed a little over a month now. I'm so counting down the days and ticking off each month til he returns to us.

Elin-She is such a little doll baby! She has her consult April 13th we will set a date from there. We thought we'd have more time but everyone is really concerned about her possibly choking in the night, so they are speeding right along.

Christina-Sounds like you have a fast learner on your hands!! Im so happy to hear she is gainning weight now. (: You should give us all a little preview of your little sweetie! I hope your DH isnt gone too long, although I am sure any amount of time is too long!

Sorry I really have been MIA.. Here is what February has brought us...

Christopher was born on the 17th, and we spent 5 days in the hospital when he was born, due to weight gain. We got home and he was still having weight issues(I was bfing) and well when he was 3 weeks old and I had to take him to the Emerg bc he couldn't cry, and had a horrible choking cough, and was really sick. We got there at 5, and Christopher had only nursed 2 times that day. Something was def wrong with him. He was too young for them to make us wait out in the waiting room, so they had put us in the Critical care room. They had to call a Pedi in and by that time we were put in another room. I had pumped a bottle and brought it with me, so I was feeding him that, but he still wasn't eating as good as he should have been.

The Pedi came in and looked at him, and said "You realize he has to stay right?" I said "No?" When we got there and they weighed him, he had only weighed 7lbs 5oz which was low. So by this time it was 11 at night and they transferred us to the Pedi unit where they had admitted him. That night they had put him on Oxygen, and was trying to regulate his breathing. They told me I couldn't nurse him, and I was to pump. I did pump, but breastpumps don't work as well as they baby so that ended nursing for me. I was super disappointed with myself and still am. They brought the Lactation Consultant in to see me, and she tried to get my milk to come back, but it was too late.

Well bc SS is involved in my life, and whatnot they called them, and they showed up. His weight loss or not enough gain was considered Failure to Thrive talk about emotional when they brought that term up. I cried, but even being on formula he wasn't gaining weight so now I know it wasn't something I was doing... We were there about 2 days and I had to leave bc I have 2 other children at home... well when I left he was off Osygen, and was drinking from a bottle... when I got back he was back on Oxygen, and was in an Isolette (to regulate his body temperature), and had a Feeding Tube in. I broke down and started crying. I called his dad and broke down on the phone.. no one could tell me what was wrong with him. They thought it was RSV, but that was negative. They done other tests, but they weren't back yet. So like I said no one had any answers. It was heartbreaking seeing my baby so sick. His weight would be up one day, and down the next... It was a rough time, and the fact his dad was only allowed there basically every other day for a hour. All I could say was "I wish I could be in 2 places at once."

Well we stayed in the hospital for 9 days in total, and by that time my girls' had gone away out of province bc it was my oldest daughter's March Break. That made things a little easier on me. When we got down starrs the scales had only said 7lbs 2oz, when we left the hopital he was 8lbs 2oz. A week later he was 8lbs 12oz and now today April 3rd he is 9lbs 7oz. He will take a 6 oz bottle, and sometimes even more... he is demand fed, but I am trying to get him on a feeding schedule, but he is still not a real good eater, he is more of a snacker. He is finally out of NB clothes bc of his length, so O-3 months are still too big, but fit in length. He just went into a size 1 diaper.

So that is where February and some of March went. I don't want to go back to the hospital any time soon that's for sure!! I do have pics LOTS of pics and will post some when I get the chance. However they are up on fb.

Christina- I'd also love to see new pics of her! SOOO glad she's gaining!!!
Ashley- I'm glad she's getting the care she needs and that they're moving quickly. One of Ronan's nicknames is Ro-Ro or just Ro Smile CUTE little man he is!
Rebekah I'm so sorry! So they don't know why he wasn't gaining really? I'm glad he didn't have RSV at least... Keep us updated for sure- and I can't wait for the pics!

I'm struggling with the whole Remy leg ordeal. I can take care of her obviously, but am having a hard time not getting upset all over again at the nurse each time I hear her crying in pain or discomfort. I am becoming a nurse, and come from a family of nurses and have friends that are nurses and I completely understand its a sometimes difficult job and I believe nurses are awesome and make a huge difference, so I know its not nurses in general. I guess I just don't understand why it had to happen, and I can't stop replaying it over and over in my head- hearing it break any everything. I am not the type to be confrontational, or get overly angry with people, but this is hard Sad I just keep reminding myself that it could be worse, and Ronan had a broken femur around the same age and is doing well.

Elin-Its totally normal to feel the way you. Thats your babygirl and someone hurt her! It may not have been on purpose but you tried to prevent this and it still happend because someone wasnt being careful despite warning. I really hope she has a speedy recovery and doesnt have to suffer very long. Its horrible watching your babies in pain. ):

So in addition to Kaylee's surgery, we now think Rowan will need the same done. He has started snoring very loudly and is constantly choking. ): GRR.

We also found out that both kiddos are due for seizure testing, got the call this afternoon. Not something I look forward to. Kaylee and myself have Silent seizures but as far as we know she hasnt had another, but its hard to tell really because we don't shake or anything. Rowan so far hasnt had any of the signs, but usually these types of seizures happen for the first time in the first 5 years. Kaylee started having them at 1.5months old, she had her last noticable one at 23 months.

Hopefully the seizures don't cause any problems and that Rowan doesn't have them! That must be scary Sad
