In L&D! Yikes! *update

Been having ctx since lunch at work, about 20 min apart. They started getting closer together during drive home. Now averaging 7-8 min. Called the RN line who called the on call OB. She said come in so here we are. Dialated to 1.5 and now 33-50% effaced. Waiting to hear what the dr says since they aren't stopping. It likely won't be anything till morning.

-Dr came in and is not crazy about delivering today unless totally necessary. So I've had a dose of IV morphine to slow/stop ctx and let me sleep. Trouble is I'm fuzzy and having double vision, but not very sleepy. We shall see.

Thanks, Kristen. I sent Dh home a few hrs ago to get some rest. We only live 5 min from the hospital and dd is "camping" at the neighbor's house. My OB will be in in the morning(her office is in the other wing of the floor). So far, since were now at appox every 3 min or so but no further dialation, we will probably have a surprise section in the morning. I'm just glad its happening when my OB is around.

Gosh I'm tired. Dozed a couple hrs then the RN came back to run another NST. Katie started rolling back and forth punching the sensor so that wasn't working. Then I noticed the strip and none of the ctx's were registering. So we started all over. No change in frequency(still 3-4 min apart) but a lot stronger. Walt will be back in around 7 or so and OB is due in shortly there after. I had hoped she'd bake a couple more days, but she seems to have other ideas.

At least 37, preferably 38 since the AAOBGyn and the pediatric assoc have decided that term is now 38 not 37 weeks. This in the last 6 mo according to the RN. The ctx have slowed down but definately not stopping.

Sent home on "light duty." Can't drive further than the Dr's office- which is okay since its in the hospital across street from Aldis, Target, Michael's, and Costco. Any last min thing I might need that dh doesn't have time to pick up, I can get. Beyond that I can make simple dinner, sit at the table and fold laundry and change games on the Wii. You know, the important stuff Smile Right now, Walt went for take out, them I'm for a shower and bed.

Haha! Good luck is right. They really didn't have a guess as to what happens next except to wait and see. My BP is creeping up, but they want to leave the dose where it is and just watch for signs of pre-e. And time the ctx, keeping in mind that the one that show up on the heels of a previous one (they called it coupling) are not productive. I guess the body needs a rest in between for progression to take place. If they ever line up (mine with Liesel didn't even when on pit) I'll need to come back in.

Meanwhile, I have one h*ll of a headache (tension, which I'm prone to) and after about 10 hrs straight of sleep, I'm still tired. Kinda glad its 3 degrees and windchill if about 10-15 below. No excuses needed today to stay home.
