So I am walking through Wal*Mart when...

this lady in her late 30's early 40's comes up to me and touches my belly and says "Oh my gosh! When are you do?!"
I was very much in shock that some random stanger came up to me out of the blue so I kinda jumped back before saying "February 6th" She smiled and said "Well I hope you enjoy it"
Thanks...

Then I venture into Kohls, this time the teen working the dressing room touches my belly and says "Wow! Baby!"

Idk why but I HATE my belly being touched. H A T E. Idk if its a mommy thing, but I am very uncomfortable with people touching my belly while pregnant, even my hubby and family. Its like something inside me snaps and I feel like they are invading my space and the babys space.

When I was pregnant with Kaylee I made a bunch of cute t-shirts with little phrases to kinda make sure people didnt touch me. For Example: "Yes its a baby belly. No you may no touch it." "Baby is Sleeping: Do Not Disturb!" "This buddha belly wont bring you good luck"

Am I the only one feeling territorial about their belly?!

I don't know how I'll be...but I am a definite "this is my personal bubble" type of person. I've NEVER touched a person's belly unless we were close friends, and even then I'd be sure to ask!

I think I'll be ok with close friends and family, but strangers?!? That just weirds me out that someone would run up and touch you! >

I definitely wouldn't like strangers randomly touching my belly, but I can't say I feel territorial about it in general. I can't wait for the point where movements can be felt from the outside so DH can feel it- I think its such a special thing and I wish I could share more of it with him! But strangers- weird!

Well to teach people not to grab at others bellies just say "No I am not pregnant." I think that they would think again before grabbing at someones belly assuming they are pregnant.

I've actually never had anyone come up and rub my belly before! My knee-jerk reaction would be to smack them and then get out the mace. Hey, maybe it would teach them a valuable lesson for the future? I mean, random person reaches out at you and you have no idea why? No one could argue that you felt you were defending yourself. lol

I have had random strangers do this to me as well. My mood at the time sways my reaction I guess. On one hand, I think it's natural to share the excitement. On the other hand, it freaks me out. I have had children come up and do this too. Usually my response is to make sure they understand that touching strangers is not okay, and even when pregnant, the polite thing to do is ask the lady if they can feel the baby. Usually I just bend down and let them feel the baby though (even if it's too early for them to actually feel the baby move).

Usually women don't bother me as much, as I know they may have not had a chance to feel their own belly because of infertility issues and such. Some older women miss the baby belly because their kid/kids are grown. Young teen girls and men annoy me....and they are usually the two types that I get mad at for touching me witout asking first.

I'm strange, I know,lol!

When the baby starts to move I dont mind hubby feeling since its really his only way to connect, but I am a very "my bubble" kind of person and I dont like ANYONE randomly touching my belly, legs and face.
