I had a nice list of names going and now I can only remember a few. Pretty bummed about it. But I am not a name teller. I don't know why, I just want to keep them to myself. So my lips are sealed.

But I would like to share a few names that have happened on my Facebook this past week. I had some friends name their daughter Jolene Grace, which I loved. Jolene is such a pretty name. Then my cousin just had a baby girl and they named her... Moxie Aurora. Yeah. WTF. Sorry but that is NOT a cute name to me ever and I wish that some people would not reproduce and be able to name a child. Moxie just sounds like a stripper name to me. Whatevs, not my baby...

Hmmm, so far we are thinking...

Logan or Rowan for a boy...

Reagan or Madison for a girl...

We have several different middle names jumping around at the moment. I really like the boys names, I'm not completely sold on the girls names though...we can't seem to pin anything down that's like "we MUST have that one!" I LUV the name Logan though. Wink

I agree. I am a name snob. I have seen some names here on preg.org that leave me laughing or scratching my head. The worst is when people follow up with "OMG! What a kute name for yur babbe!11one!!!1!

Anyway, my names are in my siggy. The D theme wasn't really on purpose. After having 3 with the same letter, I really didn't feel like changing it up.

Weston Josiah for a boy and Paisley-something for a girl. I'm really vibing this is a boy, though so I'm not trying too hard with a girls middle name. Lol

See, here is my thing. Your kid has to one day sign that name on a home loan application, college stuff, marriage license, drivers license, etc. Your kid may also one day be a doctor or lawyer one day.
Dr McSparkleigh Pryncess Smith just sounds dumb and illiterate.

That is one test EVERYONE that names ANYBODY should take. Does the name sound good with Dr. in front of it? If it sounds corny, too cutesy, or just plain stupid, maybe you should reconsider. And for the love of all things holy, adding a y does NOT make it a girls' name. Jaymez is still James.

Also, I have a soft spot for family names. Sometimes, taking pits and pieces is awesome and makes it sound nice(see Ashley's ideas). But I have seen some real butchering of otherwise beautiful names happen. Which makes me sad.

I started reading this on a pee hold and I got to the Dr. McSparkleigh and nearly pee'd myself lol.

DH is afraid that Adalynn and Ireland sound too 'made-up' but they are names I found looking in a super old baby name book of my friends mom a week ago. I fell in love with both of them!

I like Adeline. Spelled like that. Adalynn looks like Ada-Lynn. That is how I first pronounced it.

My hubby and I cannot agree at all on names. Since we aren't finding out gender we are taking a list of girl names and boy names to the birth and will decide then after we see the baby. I have sooo many names on my lists and he is being so stubborn that he cannot even tell me one that he likes! I keep a word document with the names and every time I hear one I like I add it.

Girl
#1 Teagan
Presley
Cora
Bryn
Emma
Paisley
Harper

Boy
#1 Grayson
Weston
Carson
Parker
Tanner
Liam
Graham

LOL, Marcia! Both of my baby names are on your list! Weston and Paisley. Biggrin Weston is the name of the town my mom grew up in. I love it. Biggrin

We haven't even started with names yet. I was only 5 weeks when my family started suggesting them though. You girls have a lot of cute ones.

Seriously my hubby's family will NOT stop suggesting names. Even after I told them we have the names picked out. And after we told them no to all the names they have given us.

I'm there with you and I hate it. My mother-in-law keeps calling my baby a she and by a first and middle name that she wants. I don't like the names at all and we won't be using them, but I'm used to her acting like a 5 year old. It's driving DH up the wall though, lol.

I hate it when they start calling the baby a specific name that they picked. We didn't decide with any of our kids what the name would be until the third trimester.

For right now, we are calling ours Gummi Bear, but we have given very little thought to a name.

When we adopted all of our kids, we changed their names (they wanted to, new life new name) and I am having such a hard time with the idea of coming up with a name for a person I haven't met! When we first started trying, we loved the name Juliana Grace. When we got our first daughter, she just wasn't a Juliana at all, so we named her Kathryn. Our second daughter is Juliana through and through. I'm afraid of giving it a name that won't fit.

If it is a boy, we will give it a Bible name like all of our other boys. I have no clue for a girl.

I do think I'm going to do what my sisters both did and keep the name secret until the baby is born. That way, the family won't criticize it or try to change our minds. Worked beautifully for both of them!

My little girls name is Brynna (pronouced Brin-uh). We debated between Bryn and Brynna and I liked Brynna better in the end. Just a suggestion for ya since you had Bryn on your list Smile

I'm hoping for a boy for several reasons, not the least of which is that we have narrowed it down to 2 names: Walter William III or William Eric (both grandpas' middle names).

We are totally at a loss for what to name a girl. Thank Heaven we have a few months. DD has come up with some names that are surprisingly good (they are based on suggestions from her class mates at preschool): Genevieve, Amelia, or Emily. The only one I'm skittish of is Emily since we already have an Emma in the near family. I kinda like Gevevieve (Genny for short) and it is German(and French) which seems to be a pre requisite in our house. LOL. DH is not sold though.

We have had names picked out since DS was born. We had 2 girl and 2 boy names picked out when I was pregnant with him, so they have carried over. We obviously ended up with one boy name in the end and have a favorite girl name. We used all family names for our girls names and my son is all family names too.
Girl
Elizabeth Nellie Jane (after both of my grandmothers and a great aunt)
Kaylynn Ann Marie (A combination of my middle name and my MIL's with my sister and moms middle names also)
Boy
Lucas Arthur Keith (after one of my grandpas and one of his, DH just likes Lucas)

I LOVE Adalynn!!

We won't choose a name until we meet the babe. We chose a name for DS and within 30 minutes of him being born we changed it. We waited for a few days with DD.

LOL Bean is soo cute though..

I refer to mine as little ray of 'HOPE' as it too forever to achieve a sticky one and I have HOPE tattoed on my wrist with stars to resemble my little angels..

If I were to have a girl I'd love to girl it Hope would that be corny?

:lurk:

Before I got to the end of your post I thought "she should use the name Hope if it's a girl". I don't think it would be corny at all. With what you've been through to get here I think it gives it a special meaning.
