Going to start buying things for baby?
I want to start now but am still cautious..
I'll be making as much as possible! Already half way done with a blanket. Next will be a cocoon. (: i can't wait to start making onsies
I have to go through the boxes in the attic. Liesel wore lots of unisex and boy clothes. I did buy the fabric for a quilt. And I've got to get the stuff I've loaned out back. Dd has picked out some of her stuffed animals to give to the baby. Basically, I need to order a new cover for the bouncer(ours tore) and new bottles, tubing for the pump and (if its a boy) a coming home outfit designed for winter in Wisconsin.
I have absolutely nothing for baby as our youngest dd is now 9 I got rid of it all thinking id never have another one. My sister has a bassinet, cot and change table. So I'll need to buy bedding clothes car seat and pram. Woo lots of shopping for me lol
We have everything plus more so I won't do much buying until after the birth when we know if babe is a boy or girl. Of course we have both boy and girl clothes in the right size since my kids are all born at the same. I won't be able to help myself with buying more clothes though! I LOVE baby clothes!!! I will probably get some gender neutral stuff before hand so I have some new stuff right away
We have started looking at things to buy but it's SO. OVER. WHELMING. Oh my goodness. I don't want to for sure buy any of the big items until we know the gender and we aren't putting out our registry until then too, so I have some time.
I don't need anything. If this baby is a girl, I may get her a few pink things. Otherwise, she will be just fine in trucks and dinosaurs.
We fortunately have a crib, changing table, and dresser still in the box never been assembled from the last time I got pg with a blighted ovum 2 years ago. Other than that, we aren't buying anything until we know the gender, and then not a whole lot until showers are over. I think between all the friends and family that have been waiting for me to get pg after 4+ years TTC, we are going to have like 3 showers!
LOL I am hearing you on the baby showers I think my family and friends want one NOW and then one every month LOL LOL.. When you have been TTC for sooo long you just want to celebrate every day don't you
We upgraded to a double stroller (the Baby Jogger City Select) a month or so ago because we knew it'd be easier to sell our single stroller (the City Mini) as new as possible, and before cold weather comes, so we have that.
I think after we tell the family at 18 weeks we'll have MIL offering to help us get some stuff, and the couple of friends I have told have already brought up throwing a shower even though we had one last Halloween for Ronan.
We will need a crib for one of the big things, and eventually a convertible car seat. We may get another pack n play because Ronan will still need his for awhile, not sure how that works... We'll need a mattress and more bedding for the new crib too. Let's see (this is fun!) we'll possibly need another high chair... hmmmm. Also I'm hoping to get a nice baby carrier as I just have used a cheapo one with Ronan and never really liked it. for baby stuff!
Elin, get the Ergo! I love mine so much I can't believe I waited so long to buy it! Worth every penny! I got mine used on ebay, but it's so worth it I would have bought it new!
The only thing I wanted for new baby is a phil and teds, which I just bought off craigslist, and the infant insert for my ergo. After the baby is born, if it's a boy, we will have to buy boy clothes for 9-12 and larger size. Being on team green twice has it's benefits. Other than that, nothing!
We have looked around so that we could get a idea on pricing etc. We also bought a few clothes when we found out the sex. DH bought the lil man his first teddy and then he proceeded to dress the teddy to see how it's done.. too cute I have many clothes in storage so I need to now go sort through them all so that we know what we really need etc.
Elin - Yes you must get a Ergo! They rock!!! I am going to try a woven wrap this time around as well. I love having MANY baby carrying options So I need to get one of those soon. Probably will wait until I get Birthday money (B-day is in NOV)
Probably when we find out the gender. I already have a lot of the big stuff like crib, dresser, car seat, swing. But I did make a list of some stuff I do need, like bottles, bibs, etc that I didnt keep from the other kids. Also, if this is a girl I will need clothes for sure and a cute girly blanket. I'm also saving all the diaper coupons I get in the mail. I might start stocking up on those before I find out the gender. But for now, I havent bought anything yet. It is exciting to think about though!
I have gotten a few things but mainly little things. I'm really wanting to wait until we find out the gender so I can go hog wild. We went to a outlet mall yesterday and I ended up buying a few things for both sexes. I have a number of baby showers so either way I will have something for the sex of my own baby. I'm waiting on the big stuff cause my mom and sister can't wait to find out either way. As soon as I know the sex, we will start on the nursey. I'm waiting on hubby though to buy the crib when he's home for 30 days.
We have pretty much everything we need. DD will go into a big bed soon so the crib is freed up. I will probably make new bedding for the crib and buy a few things like a new video monitor but that's about it. Both grandparents will go crazy when the baby arrives!
I love stretchy wraps for newborns but Mei Tais and the Ergo and my lava fir when they're bigger
