    Default FOOD!

What have you ladies been eating lately?

I've been craving cup-o-noodles lately. In fact that's what I had to breakfast AND lunch yesterday...lol. Haha...not very nutritious, I know. I've also been loading up on kiwis and greek yogurt to get things moving because the ONLY symptom I seem to have right now is not being able to "go".

    LOTS OF PROTEIN!!!

Chicken, steak, well cooked polish dogs, cooked lunch meat, cheese...

Lots of fruits and vegetables, but mostly vegetables. I have to treat fruit as a kind of candy.

A little bit of bread. No pasta or rice, that's for sure. Definitely no chocolate. *sigh* No chocolate...

I'm on a diabetic diet already. We're (my doctor and I) hoping it'll keep my sugars under control from the start since I had gestational diabetes with my last pregnancy.

    Did I mention I can't eat chocolate? Yeah, cause I can't.

I haven't really been having any cravings yet.....

Cindy, I hope you can avoid GD this time around! I know I'm at risk for it, so I'm hoping to start following the guidelines for GD eating and avoid it as well...

but....no chocolate? that's so not fair!

Cindy, sounds like you're eating very healthy! I hope you don't get GD this time around. Sorry about the no chocolate rule...boo!

    Jo, WTG on being proactive!

I had a giant salad with rotisserie chicken last night and it was pretty good. I just haven't had much of an appetite lately....I'm sure that'll change eventually.

I crave fast food when I am pregnant. Almost every time I eat it though it doesn't taste very good.

I have been craving fast food too, and mexican, and chinese, and nothing healthy except peaches & watermelon. Oh, and if I don't eat every three hours there is hell to pay. CRAZY!

Thanks all! I've been trying really hard to be active and eat healthy, even before I got pregnant.

I don't really think I'll be able to avoid it cause my fasting sugars are already a *little* higher than they like for pregnant women (around 100-110 each morning and it's supposed to be below 99). My doctor has talked about possibly putting me on insulin in the evening to control it starting this week. But ALL my after meal sugars are pretty spot on so far. So far, so good.

We can just do what we can, you know? I try not to worry too much about what I can't control.

Jo- I'd talk to your doctor about it! When I brought it up to my doctor at my pre-pregnancy appointment, she said ABSOLUTELY! It's actually just very healthy eating, I'm still getting all the calories I need and the nutrients. You might just be able to avoid possibly having GD, which is a real pain in the butt and can be serious if it isn't monitored and controlled.

Plus you have to eat 6 times a day, which is great for me cause I'm hungry ALL THE TIME.

Craving proteins at the moment. Esp eggs.

Otherwise I eat balanced. I am preferring savoury foods way more than sweet foods since becoming pg.

I do not want junk food - esp chips. And normally, I *love* them.

Also, I want to eat all the time and every time I eat I want a HUGE meal. It's kind of scary.

Cindy, Jo - hope both of you ladies can avoid GD!! It's good for everyone to eat healthy and I know that it takes commitment even if you are craving healthy items - so good for you for sticking with a healthy diet! I hope I'll be able to.

Mexican food... chip and salsa, chicken quesadilla with cheese dip on top

    Salads for some odd reason.

Oh and I have not been wanting "bad" foods at all either- usually I am a candy addict, but no candy here.
