Oh ew. I'd be really upset if my brother and my SIL were comparing their kids to mine. I mean, SIL does ask questions like, "When did (whichever kid) start doing xyz?" because I think she's just curious and also trying to make sure her's aren't abnormal. She's never really competitive about it. She HAS said, "he's really smart!" about my youngest son though.![]()
I have a long way to go.. however, I like that you guys are talking about names. I've lost two, so DH won't even talk about names.. I'll probably have to name him/her when she/he pops out..haha.
I wanted to post because...I LOVE HP! Yay for having a snitch on your ankle! I, also, refused to get into them. I saw all kinds of people reading the books and ...I love to read, but I refused. However, I picked up a book one day out of my brothers room so (tmi)I could read in the bathroom... and just like that BAM - I went out and bought all of the books. A lot of thought went into them.. (although, I did think the mirror of erised was a bit corny, since it's desire spelled backwards). I think it's great that you don't want super common names but not super hard ones either. I'm in the same boat. Good luck!
She did a lot of things like and I always just viewed it as part of her charm. For example, Diagon Alley is a play on the word diagonally and Knockturn Alley is a play on the word nocturnally.
Also, I have a pretty odd obsession with words that are spelled backwards so that might be why it never bothered me. There's a character on Farscape (more of my geek coming out lol) named Namtar which is literally rat man backwards which just made me giggle.
