Default no luck with baby fliping

She's still breach, and getting bigger by the day. I have a consult Thursday to discuss a c section among our other options. Planning to go for the scheduled section even though I'm disappointed over that. She could still turn on her own but at this point I think the odds get lower every day

Plus contractions are getting more painful and today I passed some of my mucus plug, so I'm hoping they won't make me wait TOO long before the surgery so I don't end up in labor first...

I'm sorry your girl didn't flip. When I was at the doc for my 28 week appt, she was all like... your baby is head down, but I'm sure that'll change... ha...ha...ha! I was like...what? Wait..isn't she supposed to be that way?

Anyway, erm... what did your mucus plug look like? I've had (TMI) discharge the entire pregnancy and I'm concerned I'll miss the mucus plug because of that. Good luck with her flipping on her own!

Babies flip around all the time until around 34 - 36 weeks, then they have a harder time moving because they are limited for space. They still can but I think it gets less likely (especially if they are bigger babies).

Mucus plug is like a glob of thick, sticky, stretchy, gooey, mucus, often streaked with blood. It can some out a little at a time or all at once or you may not lose it before labor. I've read that it can come out even as increased discharge. It usually doesn't come out until you start to dilate though, which shouldn't be until the very end.

Oh and increased discharge is a very common preg symptom lol

from what I understand yes, we'll have weekly u/s to check and make sure she's still breach.

Although my doctor today said that often when baby is breach at this point, choosing to turn them (even if they turn on their own) they will sometimes revert back to breach before delivery so they have to keep a close eye from here on in regardless.

    and good luck tomorrow!

I hope she will turn for you! I know a section wasn't your best laid plan, but healthy mom and baby is what is important.

I never lost my mucus plug (or noticed it) with any of my 3 pregnancies.

Fingers crossed and prayers coming that she makes the move on her own, mama.. I'm sure it's frustrating not being able to get her to turn. I agree with the PP, though.. Healthy healthy!! That's the key!

Crystal, I'm sorry that Maggie is still breach. I was really hoping (and still am!) that she would turn for you. I know a c section isn't exactly what you had in mind but I agree with Nichole that a heathy mom and baby is what's important. Hopefully your doctor will schedule your c section as soon as it's safe for Maggie to come out instead of making you wait forever. ((((((HUGS))))))
