    Default October chat thread!

    Hello ladies!

We are officially the February 2013 Love Muffins!

How are you guys doing? I'm exhausted. I babysat my nieces this weekend and they were both sick with a cold! Ugh! So...now I'm sick. I'm a little irritated that my BIL claimed they just had mild allergies. Yeah...Right. When we got them they were coughing up a storm and snot was running down their little noses. The older one had a slight fever too. They coughed all through the night. I gave them some medicine and hopefully they are feeling better by now. Poor things.

The sides of my torso hurt because the muscles are getting stretched out. Anyone else? My lower abdomen hurts too which I'm assuming is just RLP. Ouch!

It finally feels like Fall you guys!! I love the weather!

I hope everyone is doing great!

Boo for being sick. It annoys me when parents downplay stuff so other people will still watch their kids! I've cancelled plans because DD was sick and I didn't want to infect anyone else. I wish everyone else was so considerate. And with you being pregnant I think it's worse because you end up suffering through it hugs I hope you feel better soon.

AFM my nausea is getting worse. I'm lucky to be able to eat by lunch time. The idea of food makes me gag, which is not good. Luckily my weight loss has stuck around 10lbs which isn't too bad.

    On a positive note!
We're looking forward to our u/s in 2 weeks! Really hoping baby cooperates so we can have our gender reveal party that weekend. My MIL is dying to find out, she said the wait is killing her lol

Jina, I'm so sorry that you got sick after watching your nieces. I always worry about when we're around other's. Some of my family DOES have pretty bad allergies and I'm sure that's what was bothering me the other day (since my kids were perfectly fine and so was DH) but I felt so bad being around my nephews. I still am worried that they'll come down with something despite the fact that my kids are are still fine. Because I worry so much about it, it always boggles my mind when people intentionally expose other people to their sick kids.

I had some allergy issues a few weeks back and intentionally didn't go to see my friend when she had her baby because I was worried about that "what if?". No way was I about to make a newborn baby sick!

I hope your nieces are feeling better now!

My everything hurts. My abdomen from stretching. My back from the pregnancy itself. My urethra even hurts b/c I'm apparently having recurring UTI symptoms. Not fun.

I LOVE the fall but it's so wet here right now that I'm just miserable. I love the rain...as long as I don't have to go anywhere. I'm so darn short that all of my pants drag on the ground so I end up soaking wet.

Crystal, so exciting! I hope the little one cooperates for you!

AFM, my nausea has disappeared and I'm eating so much better. My mw told me last time I saw her that I'd lost a total of 11 lbs. As of today, I have gained 6 of that back. I'm sure that's not a good amount of weight to put on in like 4 weeks but it's because I'm definitely eating again.

Some weight gain is good! Wow 2 weeks ahead, are they sure it's only 1 and not twins?

Yesterday I ate an entire tub of Haagen Dazs so maybe I gained a lb last night lol. I'm actually getting sicker as the weeks go on. I can't wait for my appointment friday, I'm hoping to get a prescription so I can get back to living again. I had a few weeks where I was ok but not so any more.

My dogs have always been 'Mama's boys' but it's getting a bit ridiculous, Buddy our retriever follows me everywhere. If i lay on the couch, he lays beside me on the floor. If I get up to go to the bathroom, he follows and lays outside the bathroom against the door. I cannot go anywhere in the house without his being 2 feet or less away from me! He's always been super protective so I'm sure this is just him watching out for me and the baby. He sometimes lays with his face on my lap staring at my belly (or else he sits near me and watches me), it's getting crazy! lol

Awwww Jina that sucks you're sick!!

Crystal I can't wait for your U/S to see what you're having!!! Do you and DH have any guesses going?

Danielle, I TOTALLY feel the same! I LOVE the fall, but I'm on the west coast, and we can easily get 4 months of rain. And since I'm so short, it's not possible for me to go outside without my pants dragging in the puddles, unless I'm wearing 4 inch stiletto heels (and I can guarantee that I'm not going to be doing that any time soon!).
I lived back East for a while, and I loved fall there....being able to go outside when it's getting cooler and enjoy the season was awesome. And as much as I love living on the coast.......I really don't love the fact that I get wet every time I go outside! We've been lucky though, and it's still been really nice - it's still been getting up to 16 or 18 degrees each day (lol sorry, I'm Canadian so i don't know the conversion!), and it hasn't started raining yet....so I'm hoping we have a few more weeks of nice weather!!

AFM, well we leave tonight for our trip to San Francisco So, we're missing out on Thanksgiving dinner, but it's worth it! I told DH last night that I'm a little worried about part of this trip.....I'm almost scared that I'm going to be too exhausted to enjoy it! Earlier this week I had 1 awesome day with a massive burst of energy.....got through work, went shopping, went for a walk when I got home, got dinner made, got mine and DH's lunches prepped for the next day, got some house work done......and the rest of this week I've been dragging @ss! i think I used up my whole week's worth of energy that day!!

And now I'm sitting at work all grumpy because I've got awful heartburn, and I realized I ran out of Tums!! Lol I might have to make an emergency trip to the drug store!!

Crystal, I'm sorry you're still sick from m/s! How annoying! Wow, 10 lb loss! I'm up a good 11 - 12 lbs. boo! I can't wait for your u/s. Do you think they'll tell you the gender at your anatomy scan? I really hope so because I'm dying to know too! lol

That's really cute about your dog. I bet he'll be really amazing with the new baby. lol@ the ice cream. I had Chinese last night and I think I gained a full pound from all the sodium! That's one thing I hate about eating Chinese...it always has so much sodium that it makes me bloat up and retain bunch of water for a day or two.

Danielle, yeah, I don't get it either. But, then again, I really shouldn't be too surprised. BIL and SIL are notoriously known for their selfishness. We're all used to it. I just figured telling people that are watching your children about their sickness were something you shouldn't play down. You know? Not just because it's the polite thing to do but because it would be nice to have a heads up so I can keep a closer eye on them.

Ugh! Sorry...it sounds like you're in a lot of pain too. That sucks about the UTI. I hope it clears up soon. I just feel like such an old person. My everything hurts too. lol I just can't believe how sore my tummy is and I'm only half way through the pregnancy. I can't imagine it getting any bigger. I'm already having a hard time sleeping because of the pain.

Glad to hear that your nausea is gone and you're eating better. I think a 5 lb. loss at 19 weeks isn't bad at all! I'm sure your body is just trying to catch up. I've gained a total of 11-12 lbs! So, I think you're good!

AFM, I'm feeling a little better today. I think taking lots of extra vitamins and staying in bed has helped. I'm going to do the same today and hopefully by tomorrow I'll be back to normal.

Jo, I guess we posted at the same time! Have fun in San Francisco! I would totally miss Thanksgiving dinner for a trip to SF! Take lots of pics and I hope you get some energy for the trip. Treat yourself to some lattes. Sorry about the heartburn...I hate heartburn. I never used to get them but now everytime I eat things with LOTS of garlic I seem to get heartburn for DAYS. Yuck! Hopefully you can get your hands on Tums asap!

They're not *sure* of anything since I haven't had an u/s since 8/15 but twins run in my family so who knows.

For my nausea, zofran made me too constipated to function. I ended up taking unisom and b6 and felt sooooooo much better. It was like a miracle drug and meant I could actually eat something. I still felt sick but without it, I literally could not eat.

Too funny about your dog. The cat I used to have was the same way when I was pregnant with DS1. He tried to save me from the evil water in the shower the one time.

Jina I used to babysit my nephew when he was just a baby and Buddy watched him like a hawk! If I put him in the playpen so I could get his bottle or go to the bathroom Buddy sat beside it and didn't take his eyes of him! It was so cute! My niece and nephew both climb all over him, grab his fur and skin, shove their hands down his throat and he just lays there letting them do it. He's such a good family dog I lucked out with him, he was being given away when he was nearly a year by a family who wouldn't let him inside and wanted to get rid of him because he got too big. He's nearly 30lbs heavier now lol at 107lbs.

I'm not too worried about the loss up to this point, but now I know tht baby, placenta and fluids start to accumulate some weight so I will hopefully at least maintain from here on in.

I hear you ladies on the heartburn, so many foods give me heartburn I feel like i've always got it!

Jo have a great trip, I'm so jealous I'd love to go to SF. Where east did you live? I'm in Northern NB, we're right on the bay which I love but we have the NB weather (Which is great until winter hits).

Jo, I live on the east coast and it's been wetter than wet the past few years It's yucky, you're not missing much, I promise. :P We actually flooded last year (a devastating flood at that) and flooded a little bit back in 2006. Too much water for me.

I know what you mean about the heartburn. I have GERD so it's a pretty constant thing for me and it's not fun.

    Enjoy your trip!!

Jina, I'm glad you're feeling better!

My UTI is my own fault. I stopped taking the antibiotic they gave me b/c of the instant yeast infection it caused AND because I have a bad history with that med. I stopped after the UTI symptoms cleared up and of course they're back. I feel a little bit better today.
