And not for a fun reason like having my baby!!
Ugh got admited to L&D last night because I managed to pick up the stomach flu somewhere . I've read in a few places that before labour it's not uncommon to have some diahrrea as your body gets ready, but add in a total inability to eat or drink anything or keep anything down, and they were a bit more inclined to think it was flu rather than labour prep.
So after waiting it out a few hours they were getting concerned about baby, so we went and checked in so I could get IV fluids and some good drugs. Baby's heart rate was a bit too high (as was mine), and I was contracting every 10 minutes, but luckily those tapered off.
Poor DH though - he was with me the whole time, and they didn't release me until after 2am! He's taking a sick day today as well to see if he comes down with any symptoms (he works on a respiratory ward at the hospital and can't risk bringing something in to patients who are already comprimised).
So now we're just waiting it out at home, hoping that this passes quickly. NOT the way I was hoping to spend my last week of work!!
Oh no, Jo! I hope you are feeling much much better today! I'm sorry you have to go through this on your last week of work! ((HUGS))
