We just got home from my in-laws house. I'm waiting in the car with my iPad and a sleeping baby while my DH is picking up a spark plug in Sears. Thankfully, they have wi-fi.
Finishing post: I'm looking forward to my first summer class ending on Thurs. I don't usually teach the non-majors science classes because many students tend to make it obvious that they would rather be anywhere else. I have a lot of respect for people who teach k-12 and can manage a class full of younger students. It's not my cup of tea. The students in the short version of non-majors biology tend to be better students though (or they're at least motivated to fake interest since they can't get financial aid and have to pay for themselves). I will actually miss the students in the class that's ending, but am looking forward to teaching Microbiology. I like teaching during the summer when I only have one class at a time to focus on.
My mom is visiting from Atlanta the first weekend in June, too.
We had friends over saturday for a BBQ, then sunday DH's aunt, uncle and cousin came up for our first visit in the new house. Today is Victoria day so we started it with brunch at friend's house and this afternoon all 7 of us went to the beach! So Beautiful out and such a nice sandy beach we have here, on the Bay de Chaleur. It's been a great weekend overall
Next week I'm looking forward to getting back to the normal routine and sending DD off to school lol. Then I'm finally finishing the painting with our master bedroom! YAY!
Sounds like everyone had fun weekends.
Saturday, I ran 3.5 miles and then took cars to get oil changed and tires rotated. I spent a lot of the day running errands and grocery shopping. Also took DS3 on a mommy/son date and it was so much fun to buy shoes together and just hang out. We went to sonic for slushes! That night we had a family frozen yogurt date and then watched We Bought A Zoo again.
Sunday, I ran another 3.5 miles, this time with DH and DS3. Then I spent the morning writing my HR paper for my class. DH and dear step daughter cooked a few meals for the week, this was nice and gave me a break from all the cooking I usually do. Then we went and dropped dear step-daughter off with her grandparents. After this, we went and bought swim shorts for all the boys and had a sonic picnic in the park. It was SO much fun just eating in the grass with the kiddos.
This week, I am looking forward to the weekend. LOL. DH and I are trying to figure out what to do, where to go, etc. We need an adventure.
We need an adventure, too! I'd like to go somewhere not too far from home for a mini vacation. I'm not from the Midwest and feel kind of lost looking for places within a short drive. I'd like to explore north. Anyone from MN know of cool places in southern MN? Hiking trails?
