Appointment today!

Well, things are moving along! I'm 3cm and 80% (last week I was 1-2cm 50%) had a membrane sweep and have been feeling crampy and achy since. Also feeling contractions- but no real pattern yet. My Doctor basically said if I start to feel contactions in any regularity I should probably start heading to the hospital (as I'm at least an hours drive away) soooo...just hanging out! Praying this sweep works for me, again! I have a feeling it won't be long before I'm holding my LO. So excited:) will keep everyone posted!

Gah! Your crazy, my hospital is about 10 minutes away. I could probably hit it with a pebble. Keep us posted on baby updates! Certainly excited to have our first Feb baby

Yay!! Hope it works! I'll see mine within the week (induction scheduled for the 28th if he's not here by then -bp is rising and I've been on insulin since October so we're going 3-4 days early).

Awesome!! So excited for you!
My hospital is an hour away too. There is a very close one, but it's very tiny, and very lousy, so I made the choice to go to the bigger one. I'm happy with the choice. As long as i don't deliver in the car on the way lol

Wouldn't that be an interesting story. I would probably opt for the larger hospital if we lived in a more rural area, luckily the hospital near me just build a new 'Birthing Tower' a few years ago. 2? Maybe.

I keep religiously checking this thread for updates, also scoping out your facebook page but I am doubting they will get an update before we will. I'm dying in suspense over here!

Well, I had a miserable night. I was up most of it tossing and turning due to cramps. Managed a couple hours of sleep. Today the cramps have grown increasingly stronger. I am so confused- I'm just not sure what to do? I'm feeling strong menstrual type cramping - but it's more steady then waves? However I am also feeling lower backache and pulling and cramping in my thighs. I'm used to my water breaking so I have no idea if this is the start of labor or if its just from the sweep? Ugh. I may call my nurse and see what she thinks, but any thoughts from you knowledgeable ladies? I do get tightenings here and there- but the cramping is what is making me uncomfortable...

I sorta felt that way Saturday, I took some gas ex (I was kinda gassy but not really), and then went grocery shopping (after trying a bath)... Distraction and walking seemed to fix it. Can't hurt to call though!

Well, I don't think the sweep worked this time. Oh well. Feeling a little discouraged, but, guess I just keep on keepin' on. :/

Sorry the sweep didn't work this time Sad Will you try again or just wait for baby to come naturally?

I may try again- haven't decided yet:/ I'm scheduled to be induced on the 30th if he doesn't come before then. I'll be a day shy of 40 weeks. No medical reason- just had enough. (I know some people are against elective inductions, but I've had one in the past and it went beautifully- I'm fully aware of the risks associated with it and feel very confident in my decision;) )

Nothing against elective Inductions. I just don't want one Sad Had it with my son and was on Pit for 16 hours and it was MISERABLE. I am more scared of being induced with Pit then I am of having a baby! 0.o

They say if it's going to work it will work within 48 hours. Although, my water broke 3 days after with d/s 1 (not sure if it was b/c of the sweep though) I really thought things were pickin up yesterday...woke up today with absolutely nothing:( no cramping and no contractions.

Awww...sorry you had such a miserable experience:( when I had mine, I really never had to experience pitocin contractions- I started with a small amount of pit. Then my Dr. broke my water and my contrax. took off on their own-so it was turned off. I also had an epidural though. It was easy peasy:)

Haha! D/h has been more then willing. He likes to remind me that it can jump start labor...I have not really been in the mood these days, but I am getting a little desperate, lol. Maybe it would work? If nothing else, I'll make d/h a happy guy;)
