Default Everyone ready for back to school?

I know some of you have school aged kids! Are you happy to send them off??

I can NOT wait to get them off their lazy little butts and back to school! (i know i sound mean, but they have seriously been sooo lazy this summer!) Also, I work at school, so we really revolve around it here

I am! We will have 1 in first grade and another in 4K. The one in 4K goes to school 2 times a week, but all day- so it will be nice to have a couple days with just me and d/d. My boys are constantly fighting and wrestling so the peace and quiet will surely be appreciated. D/D still takes a nice long afternoon nap...looking forward to that too! Plus, I have my anatomy scan in September- cant wait!

I do not have any school aged babies but I have had a broken window, from our neighbors kid, which was not a big deal, his parents made him come apologize and we got a summer of free lawn mowing out of it! I love summers but also love how quiet our neighbor hood gets during the school year. We have several kids on our block and are friends with most of their parents.

My Gender scan is in September too! I am having a Fetal Echo at 17 to 18 weeks because of a heart defect that runs in my fathers family. It is not fatal, just something we want to be prepared for.

My oldest starts pre school (he's 4 and a half) 3 days a week from 12:30-3:30... I'm ready for the boys (youngest is 2.5) to have a break from each other and to only have to wrangle one while trying to pull this house together (need some serious reorganizing) before baby. Sept 11 is our 20 week scan and then at some point (hopefully soon after) is the gender reveal party so I'll get to find out too. Thinking Pink or I'm gonna be seriously outnumbered!!

DS is not in school yet but we will probably do a toddler class or two through our city's rec center before baby comes. I just love autumn in general, when you still have some warm days early on but it cools off in the evening. Our weather stays somewhat dry still. Just throw on a fleece jacket and take in the changing colors outside.

I actually miss the kids (most of the time) when school begins! They'll be 4th, 3rd, K this year and of course the 18 month old home with me. I definitely am not looking forward to half day K again--thats 2 schedules to deal with between the big kids and the kindergartner. And I'm really hoping for PM K so I don't have to keep him quiet during naptime after he gets home from school. It worked great for my 2nd to have pm kinder--they played all morning, got sick of each other by lunch and began fighting, so they ate and I sent one off to school and the other had a 3 hour nap while I had quiet time for me. Lovely!!

I am ready, too. Babysitting has been a challenge at some points this summer and im ready for that to go away. DD had preschool two mornings a week last year, and this year it goes to three. She loves it, and its at our church, so i really like that aspect. I think she is ready to get back to structured mornings, as compared to how she runs around in nothing but panties for hours in the mornings now..... And seeing her friends on a regular basis again.

Fall is my favorite time of year, too. Its so pretty and i love cooler weather. Ready to make soups and stews and anything with a pumpkin!

I am allergic to cinnamon so I hate fall because most of these things have it in them. Soups and crockpot meals I can take! YUMMY

That would be hard for stuff you didn't make yourself. Do you tend to substitute with other spices like nutmeg, allspice, or ginger for home baked goods that call for cinnamon? I think I could swap it out for most of my recipes, such as pumpkin pancakes, without it affecting the end product too much.
