Default Holy Sh*T! She had no right.

Baby Messiah: Critics Say Parents, Not Judge, Should 'Select a Name for Their Child' - ABC News

Not sure how many of you have seen this. This is about the judge in Tennessee that changed a baby boys first name From Messiah to Martin when the mother was asking to have the last name changed. I am floored. Would love to see how you ladies feel about this.

I don't feel that the Judge had any right to do this to the mother. What so ever. I am not a fan of Messiah but the court and government, nor does this ONE person have any say in what a mother names her child.

AND I work in a law firm.. Absolutely floored over this. My boss is speechless!

Omg I saw this. I was FLOORED. It was a disgusting abuse of power. Not to mention an insane breach of the separation of church and state. Just disgusting.

The judge has no right to make the mom change the name.

I'd appeal, but that's not enough. I'd also want her position as a judge to be called into question, she's abusing her role to push her own religious belief.

I'd want her job too. It's crazy to let someone so high on their own power stay in office and abuse it.

I would have her job. Period. That's a complete over use of power. Take about separation of Church and State issues. We are not a religious family but we are a very open minded family, and we try to teach that to Stetson. This is obviously a lesson that her parents did not instill on her.
