Hoping everyone's weekend was better.

Well we live outside Detroit Michigan and some of you watch the news enough to know that we had some pretty sever storms pass through our area on Friday evening. Our street had between 12 and 24 trees down, and one landed on DH's car :/ I don't seem to have a picture of the front hood but it is dented and the windshield is shattered as well. My son's car seat is demolished too. -Sigh- We are pretty sure they will be totaling this car.

Omigoodness! That's terrible!!! So sorry to hear about this. Does your insurance cover storm damage? Did you have any damage to your house? I hope not! No one was hurt were they?

We have a few siding spots that are damaged and a small part of our gutter needs to be replaced, but over all the house is alright. No one in our house was hurt thankfully. Bob (DH) was home about 20 minutes before this happened to his car and Stetson got picked up by me that day. Down the street an older lady had a tree fall on her house, she broke her leg going down her stairs trying to get out of the house. Thankfully her neighbors checked on her as the storm stopped and found her, She is alright, mostly shaken up and staying with her daughter now.

Oh no! That's terrible but thank goodness it wasn't the house and you are all okay. I hope you will be able to claim it on insurance.

OT but your house looks so lovely!

Yes we are able to claim it. Thankfully. The insurance lady did not believe me when I told her a tree fell on it. She asked me if it was a large branch. They are doing the estimate on the car today. It's worth about 9,000 and the last time I spoke with the collision place the damages totaled about 7,000. That was about half way through. DH keeps telling me that I might be getting a car for my brithday (Monday) and you know I am just not that excited about it.

Well it's official we heard back from the assessor. They are totaling the car. They will also be giving us money to replace the car-seat. Sad and starting to stress. I do not enjoy looking for cars. We will likley get something small like a Ford Fiesta. I drive 30+ minutes a day to work and get 21 miles to the gallon. -Sigh-
