How and When?

I know most people wait a few weeks after finding out when and how they will tell people about their pregnancy.
How will you be announcing the great news? Something fun or maybe facebook or just the old fashion way?
When? How far along will you wait to tell people? I have only told my son's BB and then people here and of course DH.
We will be waiting till about 12 weeks before we announce it to anyone else. Trying to find a fun way to do it!

The grand parents know, a few of my close friends know (back up child are for my boys for doc apts)... First doc apt tomorrow then we'll tell our siblings.... Family reunion the end of July (we'll probably put the boys in funny big brother sorts or something)... After 12 weeks we'll put a funny photo on Facebook.

We will wait until 12 weeks to make a formal announcement. At this point, DH, my boss and a close friend are the only ones that know. For Facebook, I found a cute idea -- I'm going to make a picture of those little people stickers you see on peoples cars. You can add names underneath and for the baby, I will put the due date instead. I did this one for our angel baby, but I will make a new one for this baby (I can't see the image at work, so let me know if it posted); I also posted the link to see the photo:

I haven't come up with a cute way to tell the kids yet, but I want too -- maybe get them Big Sister / Big Brother shirts? But, I'm not sure they would get it -- they are a bit young and my DD is already a big sister Wink

When I was pregnant with my DD, we used this poem to tell our parents; of course you can change the birth month:

I do not have a face to see,
Or put inside a frame.

I do not have soft cheeks to kiss,
I don't yet have a name.

You can't yet hold my tiny hands,
Nor whisper in my ear.

It's still too soon to sing a song,
Or cuddle me so near.

But all will change come October,
That’s when they say I'm due.

I'm your new grandson or grand daughter;
I can't wait till I meet you.

All I ask between now and then
Is your patience while I grow.

I promise I'll be worth the wait,
Because of all the love we'll know.

So what I have to give you now,
Is a wish to you from me.

I cannot wait to be a part
Of this wonderful family.

We have told grandparents and thats it. Everyone else will find out after about 12 weeks. I may tell close friends after the u/s, but not all family, etc.
last time at work i brought pink and blue cupcakes...... That went over really well. They all like food Smile

Not even gonna lie that I will be stealing the poem for when my parents are in town the week of July 4th. We have decided that we are gonna tell my parents first. They live in TX and we are in MI so they sadly miss out on a lot with my son. We will tell the other grandma shortly after that.

For the rest of the family we are having a Labor Day weekend barbeque and I will be wearing this shirt. DH found this today at work

I love the t-shirt idea, Kendra, thats too funny.

I only found out yesterday, so right now only DH and my parents know. At 10-11 weeks we are going on vacation with DH's family (parents, all siblings, and their families). IF we have heard a heartbeat by then, we are thinking about telling our kids on the drive there and letting them share the news when we arrive at our vaca destination. We won't even give the kids any direction, we'll just wait and see how it comes out. We will probably tell close family after vacation and announce to FB no earlier than wk 13. As for Facebook, we'll be videotaping the boys' reaction to the news. If the video turns out ok, we'll probably just post that. I was also thinking about posting a picture of the kids with some not-so obvious message, like a pic of them sitting on the couch with their feet hanging off, but something written on the soles of their feet, like "baby #3 due FEB.". Hubby wasn't as excited about that idea.
