    Default my 1st appointment

I had my first appointment today. This was just a visit with a nurse to gather information and get labs. They took 6 vials of blood and I almost passed out; it was awful. They had to put cold packs on me, lay me down, give me juice and they put smelling salt under my nose. I got really sick to my stomach. It was an unusual reaction for me. Now they put in my chart that I have to lay down for any future blood draws.

Because of my recent miscarriage, I have to go back on Saturday for an Hcg / progesterone blood draw. They will monitor how much it rises from today. My first appointment with the doctor is on Tuesday.

Christa, that is a lot of blood! Sounds ridiculous for someone brand newly pregnant. Take care of yourself

Yikes hope you are feeling better now. Idk why some dr's take so much blood and others not so much. My first ob with my first baby took about 6/7 vials my current ob only does 2/3

I know what you mean -- this is the same OB I've used for all my previous pregnancies and this is the first time they took so much.
