Need thoughts and prayers -- comments welcome -- SCAN UPDATE

I had my first scan today; I should be at least 6 weeks + 4 days. Baby measured 5+5. There is a HB, but the U/S tech said it was hard to measure; she is guessing it is about 100. I can't remember what the exact yolk sac size was; I know it was 4.x - I think she said 4.6 or 4.8. I've attached a photo, but it is mostly just the yolk sac:

I'm in limbo waiting for a doctor to review the scan results; they said I likely wouldn't get a call until tomorrow. UGH! The tech said she is guessing they will have me come back in a few days for another scan.
Please send me all the thoughts and prayers you can muster. Anyone with more information / experience; I'm open to feedback. Trying to stay positive since I know the scan can measure off by a bit and at least the HB was above 90 (which I've read is good). I think I remember reading it starts out slow and builds up. But, it's still so hard after our loss we had in November. I'm trying so hard to not cry and remain positive.

Google info I found
The lower the fetal heart rate is around 6-8 weeks the higher the miscarriage rate can be predicted.A fetal heart rate below 70 beats per minute around 6-8 weeks usually predicts a miscarriage. A fetal heart rate below 90 beats per minutes is associated with a 86% miscarriage rate, and a fetal heart rate below 120 bpm is associated with a approximately 50% miscarriage rate.

[TABLE=width: 330]

Fetal Heart Rate and Risk of Miscarriage

[TH]Miscarriage Rate[/TH]

100% 70-79 91% 80-90 79% Under 90 BPM 86%

Thanks,
Christa

Sending prayers****
When I went in for my U/S baby measured at 6W1D- the heartbeat was 115...which is good...if you measured at 5+5, I would think a heartbeat of 100 would be great news, especially that early! From what I've read, it seems most people don't see or hear a heartbeat until at least 6 weeks! Is it possible you ovulated later then you thought? Maybe implantaion happened later as well. (?) btw the heartbeat does get a little faster each day;) sending positive thoughts your way!!! KUP!

I love the tech at my ob's office... My uterus apparently tips toward my belly button when I'm laying on the table so she always has to really point that sucker up. Makes measuring at this stage a bit hard cause baby is about as far from the probe as possible (gotta love my kids' love of hiding! Just thought I'd throw that out there.

The HB doesn't start beating until the 6th or 7th week usually, so a HB at 5+5 isn't bad at all.

Could your O dates be off a bit?

Doubtfult the O date is off; I was using a clear blue easy fertility monitor and temping using FF. I got a peak reading on the monitor on May 17. Got a FF reading of O on May 18 based on temp drop. We did the dead on May 19 in the morning. So, I'm pretty sure I have the correct O date. Plus, we didn't due the dead again until May 24 and I got a positive test on May 28. Here is a pic of my FF chart; so, I'm confident of conception on May 19 which should put me at 6+4 today:

You may have had late implantation and that could account for the slight difference - My 1st RE used to only do an U/S at 7 weeks to be sure to find a heartbeat, so finding one at 5+5 is great! I would expect it to be low as it probably just started!
As someone who has had more then her share of u/s - I know that in the early stages anything within week is not a concern (to my OB or RE) - just because of angles of the shots or placement of the baby etc

I know how easy it is for me to say "don't worry" - but hopefully they get you in soon for a follow up. As a survivior of 5 miscarriages, I have to see the heartbeat twice before I ever feel like I can breath easy.
Hopefully they won't make you wait too long!!

How does the implantation date effect the HB and growth? If you have any imput there, I would love to know more!!

Technically you aren't pg until implantation. Implantation can happen at a very wide range of days. Normal is believed to be something like 6dpo-12dpo. However it can happen earlier or later I've read some women don't implant until after 14 dpo even when most women's AFs are due, which probably accounts for most of the late BFPs people have. So if you implanted on the later side the baby would be behind your expected dates according to your LMP or even going by O. A few days makes a big difference early on bc the babies grow at fast rates. I can tell you that with 2 of my successful pgs I measured anywhere from 3-7 days off my first u/s at 6w1d and 6w3d. We saw a hb both times that was 105 one time and 115 the other the other pg, both of which were considered normal. With both babies they had caught up w/ their edds by the next u/s. GL to you and lots of prayers!!!

Christa- what have the doctors said?

The implantation thing definitely makes sense. That's why many doctors do a "dating ultrasound" these days. Because implantation can vary. And then your due date can be adjusted. I am not sure about the heart rate part but remain that stress is bad for the baby.
