Default TMI ( Rash down below)

Okay ladies so I have an appointment this afternoon since calling to speak with the nurse.

I have had a sort of rash on my labia off and on for the past week. At first I thought it was because a soap change/ issue. I have normal discharge.

It comes and goes but and i was worse after Dh and i dtd last Saturday, but it went away, and came back after a shower. well we skipped our weekly Saturday romp. because it hasn't gone away. it is only on my outter labia, and there is no smell or funny discharge. just itches and burns.

I am nervous for this appointment in like 30 min since i get to see my Dr. partner for the first time, and they are going to want a vag exam/culture. I have upped my yogurt/ kefir intake of good Bactria in hopes of combating it if it is just a yeast infection which i have never had.

I am soo embarrassed about the whole thing..... anyone else have problems like this while prego?

I have gotten raging horrible yeast infections with each pregnancy. Luckily, they just give a tube of cream, and I find it helps within hours.
You would usually have itching, some burning if it's bad enough and this discharge that is a weird consistency, like kind of crumbly. (hard to explain if you've never seen it...)

Another thought is that if you are knocked out of wack and they yeast get TOO low, you can get a bacterial infection, this is the one that smells bad and gives you a yellowish nasty discharge.

Are there any other symptoms you have?

Definitely good to have the dr check it out, because you aren't supposed to use over the counter stuff during pregnancy, even if it is just some yeast. Good luck!!

Thanks so glad im not the only one.

turns out i have a very minor case of bacterial vaginosis. I am glad to have met the other dr. she was very kind and I am going to hold off on antibiotics for a week to see if it clears on its own. she told me to use a bit of anit ich cream to heal the rash part. She even told me hat it is really common for pregos to get, and she her self had it and it did clear on its own.

I do not have any other symptoms but the rash and my normal discharge.

Glad you got it sorted out. Did she have any tips as a preventative measure since you said it has come and gone before?

I had the same thing when I was a young teen- I was too embarrassed to tell my mom, so I dealt with it and it cleared up on its own. Glad you got to the doctor though- its totally uncomfortable! Hope it clears up fast for you!!!

nope just that it is common during pregnancy since your immune system is lower. I haven't been real great about taking my vitamins or probiotics lately either so i got to get the good Bactria up again.

I have found that making sure I have a warm bath every day opposite of my shower (i shower in the morning, so i'll sit in a bath at night) it helps me with any infections I'm getting.
I hope that it clears up fast!
