OT bullying

So my DS is in 4th grade. Well today he gets off the bus and tells me he is really mad. He said there is a 6th grader that keeps picking on his friend. He said the kid kept standing up and reaching over the seat and smacking my sons friend in the head, so DS got sick of it and the kid popped up to hit the little boy again and my son threw his hand up and gave the kid a bloody nose. Luckly the bus driver did not see this so DS did not get in trouble and the older child did not bother my son and his friend the rest of the ride home. Now of course I told DS he can't do that and he should have came home and told me but secretly I was so proud of him for standing up for his friend who was being picked on. DS said sorry mom butbi just can't tolerate that. This is not the first time he has protected another child last summer at day camp his friend was getting picked on and he pretty much told them if you mess with my friend then you mess with me. They then left the kid alone. He is one of the bigger kids for his age. I guess as long as he is using his size to protect kids from bullies and not being the bully I am a proud mama!

good for him! I can't stand bullies. Grrrrrr.... I know what you mean... I'd probably react the way you did... Telling them they can't do that, but being secretly proud, haha. Wink
