i have a problem- i was hoping it would work itself out by now but it hasnt. My left side lets down just fine and responds to the pump, but my right WILL NOT. so far it usually gives up half an oz, maybe a whole oz if i work at it for a while, when i can tell its fuller and producing more than the other side which i get 2-3oz out of usually. i've gotten it to let down once, and got 3oz in like 2 minutes out of it, but it took a lot of work, and it was very full when i did it.
I'm using a medela harmony single manual pump- thats what i got free from the hospital. And i never had this problem pumping for DD. i'm afraid that i nursed DD primary on the right for bed and now the valves on that side need more convincing than my single manual pump can provide.
does anyone have any ideas to get that side to release? i wish i could just go buy a nice double electric but thats not exactly an option right now. Luckily if this goes on most of my sitters can bring DS up to work to nurse once during the day. My only plan right now is to nurse twice as much and pump on the left side and build that supply up so that i can pump easier and the right won't overfill while i'm working.
