Wow, as a military wife, that story makes my stomach hurt. I cannot imagine anything worse. Its a different life, your soldier gone all the time. Thankfully, my DH is home right now, but he just got here, and he'll leave again soon. That poor woman and her beautiful children.
I wanted to share a picture of my younger brother (even though he's a foot and four inches taller than me and over 120 pounds heavier) with y'all... he's heading to Fort Knox for bootcamp in a couple of weeks, and is looking at deploying to Iraq shortly after his training school, so sometime by the end of the year! Sorry if its big!
And then of course my friend Brian, not the boyfriend mentioned on other posts though! This was taken the day he came home from Iraq:
I have two updates: Mike is now back home in Hawaii -- Jayson will be going to see him in a month. He will be relocating to Alabama in Oct/Nov. He is really looking forward to the move because he will be teaching now and won't be going on as many deployments now.
2nd update: Patrick graduated from Marine bootcamp and is now onto his training school. He is training to be EOD and I know eventually he will end up in Iraq.
Here is a picture of Patrick. He got to come home this week before he goes off to MOS school. I found out he will no longer be EOD, but he will be munitions supply -- still a pretty dangerous job and they said in the next 6 months he will be in Iraq.
What a great idea to start this thread. My husband is serving in the Army and though he has not been to Iraq yet (thank God), he will be leaving for Germany in a couple of weeks. I will stay in the states for now because baby will be born soon. We are not sure when we can join him overseas. Please keep him and all those serving our country in your prayers.
God bless you all.
My nephew just told me yesterday that he enlisted in the Marines and is leaving April 5 or 15th...I need to make sure huh. His MOS is aircraft mechanic. The main concern I have is of course for his safety. He just got married a month ago and has a 3yo step dd who he adores. Please keep them in your prayers.
Here's them now. I'll update with military photos later as they come of course:
