    Default Do rabbits steal peonies?

I am so sad right now i went out to check on my peony that i waited forever for and it is gone!!!! the whole plant that was growing is gone and so is the root!! wtf? are there any animals that would do this? I know that rabbits and skunks come into our backyard sometimes, but i would think that they would only eat the leaves if anything

I am not sure. I would think it was possible. I had a zucchini that was just about ready to be picked. I decided to leave it one more day. Went out to pick it the next morning and it was gone. The whole thing with no evidence as to what happened to it. A few days later I saw a raccoon that I wondered if he did it. We do have a lot of rabbits too though. So heartbreaking to loose something you waited so long for.

I had the same thing happen with a tomato. No idea what took it. We have woodchucks, rabbitts and squirrels.

someone at work suggested a squirrel. this time last year they were stealing pears from our pear tree and none have grown this year so i guess that is a possibility if they are desperate lol
