Garden update

My garden is in full swing now. I have a dozen or so green tomatoes and several dozen more flowers I have eaten three cherry tomatoes so far. I have already harvested a large batch of green onions and re-planted the bulbs. I left some of the green onions growing to use while the other bulbs are growing. My lettuce is full grown and I have gotten a few salads out of it already. I plan to make a big salad from it tmw. My pepper plants that I thought were gone have come back and I have several kinds of peppers coming in and more with flowers. My butternut squash and zucchini are getting bigger every day. They do not have flowers yet, but I expect they will soon. Same with the pumpkin. The sweet potatoes in pots are really taking off. I had to thin half of them out into another pot because they spread so much. I also had to dump out the potatoes in to a large trash can with wholes in the bottom because the pot was not big enough. Most of the plants broke off in the transfer, but they seem to be coming back. The carrots and turnips are coming slowly but surely. The cucumbers did not do well in the back garden so I moved some of them to the front garden and they did much better there.

Overall, I am very pleased how my garden is turning out after a rough start.

Where are you?

My tomatoes are adapting to the outside.
The squash and cucumber have buds.
I got a flower coming on my artichoke!!!

But the carrots are not coming.
I discovered that rapini reseeds itself and overwinters in a zone 5. It is all over the garden like a week.

TN. I just got back from being out of town for 2 weeks, so it was fun to see the progress while I was gone. I have 5 butternut squash growing. None of them are big enough to pick, but some are 3 or 4 inches. It looks like I will at least have plenty of that Smile I have 2 zucchini that are a few inches. Hoping I will get more as I have several recipes I want to try. I have a few ripe tomatoes and lots of green ones. I got one cucumber and have many smaller ones coming. I picked an entire Aldi's bag of lettuce that I will have to take most of and give away because it will not keep. I picked a nice bowl of snap peas then pulled the plants up as they are done. Before I left I froze a large batch of green onions and radishes.

This is the fun time of gardening for me. I am really hoping that no bugs or animals get into the garden and ruin it at this point.
