Growing up

Ok so I have posted the huge list of things I have growing on one of my first post. And I was not sure how I was going to get all the things that are vines to not run into eachother. Every thing is 6-10 inches apart but still it is small spacing when you think about the size of a full grown pumpkin or melon or squash. So while looking for ways to set up a trellis for the peas and beans I watched some cool videos on how to do a vertical garden for all kinds of plants. So my big plan now is not to transplant the things as they outgrow the space but to let it all stay right where I planted it almost 3 weeks ago but build a trellis and let it go up the wall!!!

Here's a cool video of what I am talking about http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c3o-TwOrsdo

DH actually watched some videos of a guy that planted watermelon and some other bigger things in what he thought were very small spaces. He's now thinking of planting some. He wasn't going to but the videos inspired him.

I think it's inspiring when you can go out your back door to get lettuce and other food instead of the grocery store. I think he's craving watermelon and rather than go pay for one I think he's looking at it we already have everything we might as well do it. Then it's free. Yay free!!
