Yay! Sam is taking steps on his own! He usually does 2-3 and then falls on his butt, but today he did 5 in a row. Then he gets all proud of himself and gives me a huge smile when I clap for him and say, "YAY Sam!!!" So cute!
I took the boys to Toys R Us today to get them their Halloween costumes. I got Sam a little dinosaur costume and Nate picked out The Incredible Hulk. I've no idea why he picked that one, but he LOVES it. He had to immediately put in on when we got home and he ran around the house and tried to scare us. We humored him every time and screamed and he just thought that was oh so funny. I love that kid. He brings me so much joy.
His teacher also said that he had the best day yet on Friday. I'm so glad. I was getting really worried that he was having a tough time adjusting to school. I guess he's finally getting into the swing of things. I'm going to start volunteering in his class in the beginning of October. I'm way excited about that.
This weekend was crazy. I got so much done around the house. I'm tired. *YAWN*
I went online and ordered some more stuff from Gymboree. I feel guilty, but it felt oh so good. DH laughed at me and told me to have fun enjoying myself. I'm so happy to buy little flowers and pink things. I never thought I'd say that. I always thought of myself as having a bunch of boys.
I go to see Dr. M on Friday.
I have to go back to jury duty on Tuesday.
The boys were insane today. Sam was whiny and Nate was just a nut. Sam is getting even more teeth, so I think he's just not a happy camper right now.
Jury duty today. I think they'll probably excuse me because the crime in question happened to my mom like 30 years ago and I wrote that on the questionnaire. We'll see. Either way, this is going to be a long day. I have to teach my night class anyways.
Sam keeps pooping in the middle of the night. What on earth is this all about? So weird!
I could just feel the tension oozing off of DH and finally she said, nonchalantly, "And it looks like a girl." Then she went on to do the heartbeat and look at other things and Ron said, "Are you sure it's a girl?" And the lady said, "Well, my manager will only let me say 100% girl at 24 weeks, but she's got her legs up by her head, so I've got a clear shot and there are no boy parts there. But...I'm only allowed to tell you 80% girl since your wife is only 18 weeks." Then she gave us pics and we went to the mat. store. Then we had lunch and sat there in disbelief. Then I asked him if he'd like to go to Gymboree to pick out some pink stuff. He agreed. I've never seen him so excited to pick out clothes. He picked out a cute little dress with pastel dots all over it and I picked out a pink shirt that said "Daddy's little Monkey" and some monkey pants to match.
When we got out to the car, I asked him if he was feeling happy to be having a girl and he said, "Well, she said only 80%." I laughed at him and explained to him what she was actually trying to tell us...that her manager will not allow her to say 100%, but THERE ARE NO BOY PARTS THERE. LOL!
OH BOBBIE! THAT IS SO AWESOME!!! I'm so happy for you!! YEAH PINK!!!
Hi Jen! Yeah, we are sooooooooooooo excited! I love pink!
Just shy of 22 weeks.
I went to see Dr. M today. We discussed my blood work. I guess I'm anemic. So, he wrote me an Rx for some iron pills. I soooooo do not want to take those. I hate being constipated and I've successfully avoided that situation the whole 2nd trimester this time. UG! Maybe I can just eat kale and steak every day? LOL!
We also talked about a natural birth. I told him that the epidural from Sam's birth messed up my back and that I'll be having a doula this time again but that I HAVE to get through this one naturally. He said, "Ok, just remind me to bring some extra cotton for my ears!" LOL! He also told me which nurses to ask for and he gave me a note on his Rx pad that said for the OB nurses to call him for my delivery even if he's not on call. I totally love Dr. M.
He said baby's heartbeat sounds good and the u/s report looks good. I need to go for my glucose test in 4 weeks and he scheduled another u/s for 12 weeks time. Cool beans.
I'm really excited for Christmas to come this year. Don't know why I'm so excited so early, but I'm really looking forward to it.
